I dare say that's what Hayne would be worth under the cap with club affiliated TPA's still to be added on top of that. I'm also factoring in a rise in the cap to match a salary rise too, a 30% rise in the salary cap for 2018 would mean and extra 30% of his base salary, which would be another 250-300k. Taking him to a minimum of about 1.2m with club affiliated TPA's factored in.

I can't see Copley being on that much and the Broncos will be paying part of whatever he is on. Plus he would have to have an absolute shocker of a year for us to release him after one year into his contract. We would also have to pay out a fair chunk of the remaining years.

I wouldn't be surprised if JH38 is already on some TPA's to make it easier to fit under our cap next year. I doubt those meetings he has been spotted having with our head honchos are to get a taste of the different lattes around Bondi.

It is amazing the amount of replies this topic has generated after such little time. The appeal of the train.....

The clubs have been told their annual grants will increase to 13m in 2018.
For this reason Manly & Parra dangerously choosing to sign quality players on back ended deals.

IMO, it would be well worth doing for The Train.

Just like SBW, Jarred's market appeal, which has probably doubled, will do wonders for us.

That will work for them, well at least until the cap actually rises and the lesser players want more as well.

Watching him setup those tries & scoring himself during the rugby world cup finals left me in no doubt he is still at his peak.

To compare, Sam Burgess was MIA (& useless) for England, & is still injured,

Yes, I do, but given the choice between Aubo and SKD not at the Chooks, I'd have SKD leaving.

Over their careers, Aubo has always been Mr Consistent, SKD Mr Inconsistent. On that alone, I'd rather keep Aubo.

What's the point in having Hayne and SBW if your halves are rookies?

I'd go Moa, SKD and then Guerra if need be.
Hastings has more talent than Pearce IMO

His composure as a rookie over those important last 6 rounds was maturity beyond his years.

Nikorima has the natural talent & flair to become another Shaun Johnson

Pearce is experienced.......after nigh on 10 years he should be more!!!

With Joey coaching the halves, I see the younger 2 reaping the benefits.

Pearce fooled enough to earn selection in the semi final but he didn't me.
