Roosters Logo

Hi guys, so as the new year has dawned on us and another NRL season is just around the corner, I thought I'd revisit the question of the Roosters logo.

Back in 2014, the members logo was actually a pretty nice fusion of old and new, but it was really only limited to some advertising and some members gear, but I've been wanting to see it or something like it back since, so I took it upon myself to design something similar whilst using the more fusion-style chook from the centenary logo.

The word Represent is more dominant than the words Sydney Roosters on anything other than the footy jumper. The Roosters marketing team have gone cheap this year on members packs. They are no longer including a members cap it is now $20 extra & they have replaced it with an oversized blue garbage bag with the word Represent on the front of it, crapolla.

I was going to get one of the non game memberships as i won't be able to go to any this year as I usually get the GA one, but no cap jeez that's stingy as so I fired of an email no members cap no membership this year.

Our design team for roosters merchandise are woeful.the occasional good design but more poor designs that good. A HERITAGE club which they fail to capitalise on either short term or long. The base for the designs so easy when RWB

The 100 year anniversary was the perfect opportunity to make a permanent transition I thought, and given how much everyone seemed to like that logo I'm surprised they didn't stick with it.

Someone made the point to me at the LU forums that I'm probably the 20th graphic designer fan to suggest an alternative to our current one. I'm not sure if there'd been quite that many, but I've seen a lot of suggested replacement designs since we went to foghor-leghorn in 2000 and all have had a more traditional look, a fact which you would think would indicate to the club that people want something that honours our history better.
