I prefer the one with without the Roosters name yet if the club says it's a must then go with the one that the Roosters name is plain and simple under the Sydney name not the seperate one..

Have you thought of a petition or even putting the logo on a cap? If you get heaps of fans wearing them then the club might take notice. Anyway great work and I hope it comes off cause I cannot stand our current logo!
Fair enough - if you guys think it looks bad I'm happy to get rid of the footies in 'Roosters'. The idea was to make a logo more in line with what us fans want after all.

As I said before, I also would rather not have Roosters in the logo itself, and I figure the club may use both versions anyway depending on the context.

Having the logo on a cap isn't a bad idea - I'd actually considering just having it printed in T-Shirts, but a cap would probably make more sense. I'll implement a few more of the things you guys have suggested like changing the colour composition of the ball and getting ESDRLFC in the shield and come back to you.

I'm all for the older style emblems to reflect the clubs history, but we have to go with the name Sydney Roosters.

I like the top image that incorporates the Roosters within the shield.
In fact I reckon it looks brilliant.
Easts to Win is plain to see on the ball.
      I'd buy a t-shirt .

        Cheers mate!
I'd start selling T-Shirts with it, but I'm pretty sure I'd get sued for copywrite.

Maybe if this campaign gets going I'll just have a bunch made and give them out at games for free or something (I vaguely remember copyright only extending to things which seek commercial profit/advantage).

Maybe the club would sanction it?
I mean the emblem is retro , unused.
The evil nrl would be the fly in the ointment.

Anyway , just my opinion that the Roosters name sits better inside the design. I don't think it looks too cluttered.

If you get in quick for preseason sales - I think the Roosters legal team is occupied with another issue at the moment

Minor update, but in line with requests to try get ESDRLFC in there (which I've also wanted to do, I've had a go at substituting 'Easts to Win' with it on the footy along with a couple minor added cell shading details on the chook in response to comments I got elsewhere that it made the chook incompatible with the ball. Have a look:

I much prefer the detailed silhouette style. The current one is pretty average, it reminds me of the Sydney City one from the late 90's, makes me shudder thinking about it.

Good work. They're both great and incorporate the modern Sydney Roosters name with our traditional name in a simple emblem. I really hope you get somewhere with this!

While I understand the Sydney name and have come to accept it I believe with these council mergers happening and with a new council merger of Waverley,Woollahar and Randwick going to happen and most probably having the name of "Eastern Suburbs council" which will go from Watsons Bay to Lapa(our traditional bounderies) surely the timing is right for the club to look at going back to the Eastern Suburbs name or even the Eastern Sydney name...if they ever wanted the community support this is definitely the right time to go back to its history/heritage. Even if they keep the Sydney name why not have Eastern Sydney Roosters?

Stick with Easts to win, imo.
The other will look like alphabet soup to the uninitiated.

Easts to win , cry out the crowd , let everybody say, put the Roosters on the field we'll show you how to play

I think I prefer having Easts to Win there too - makes the homage more complete. That said, I think it works having ESDRLFC on it too, and I want to incorporate that in there some how.. Tricky one.

                      Cheers mate - me too!

Yeah, I'd ideally like us to just be called East Sydney, but people tell me there's no chance of that happening because of the decrease in google search results, marketing algorithms or something it would create.

Basically the argument is 'Sydney' is just much more marketable. Personally when I think about how well known a club like Collingwood are in this country despite it being a tiny suburb that extends basically a few blocks of Melbourne, I have trouble understanding why it would be so bad for us, but that's the way the club looks at it and blokes like us aren't going to change their minds in a hurry.
