  • 2016 Backline - An intriguing thought

Obviously our backline has changed quite drastically over the course of the off-season, however my main thought is on SKD. If he is found guilty of domestic violence, we may be in a bit of a pickle. Let me propose a hypothetical....... Lets say Latrell Mitchell puts on a bit more beef and gets his lungs right, I would prefer to see him at FB and Fergo stay in the centres.

    1. Mitchell
    2. Burgess
    3. Fergo
    4. Copley
    5. Tupou
    6. Hastings
    7. Pearce

Well I doubt Mitchell will start at No. 1. Fergo is more than capable to put in those extra yards, him and tupou are the ones who can spark something out of nothing.

Ryan Matterson could b a wild card,if robbo and co can bring out his potential at 193 cm and 103 kg he certainly has the right build to make a go of centre.18 months ago there were big wraps on him played Jnr kangaroos and Origin. I know he was primarily in the halves but he's not gonna get a look in there with us.Maybe getting out of parramatta will re-ignite what looked like was gonna b a promising career.

I don't think he will last long in the halves another Sironen and will end up in the backrow

I thought I read somewhere he plays FB. And I thought thats why we signed him as a depth signing to cover Slimeankel/Fergo

Yeh I thought about his options for FB and back row as well.A possible FB who can pass and kick could b an interesting and different option for us.As for back row could he develop into a possible Bryce Cartwright style of back rower.Tough to see an opening for him in our back row though it's probably our strongest area as far as depth goes.

You probably said the same about our 2013 backline @ the start of the season.

Time to get over RTS 75 . Just a footnote in our history . He was and never will b a premiership winning FB in our colours.

There absolute idiots re signing tupou and Elliot, not being able to keep RTS now losing Jennings and possibly SKD then taking a gamble on some pom who hasn't played anything close to nrl. Freeing up all this money for what purpose 1 player isnt going to win the competition for us
