Would love to see Jared as Captain and Friendy as Vice Captain, i think the added responsibilty of the Captaincy would settle him even more fewer high shots and silly penalties. I could really imagine Jared serving it up to the team deluxe like Fittler and Anasta did when he needs to.The man would lead by example.

I wonder if friend ever truly wanted the captaincy? Very quiet during the games (not in workload), and is abysmal in the press conferences afterwards. Just seems like a guy who loves to be part of the team and play well, without needing to be in the spotlight.

has superb vision in a game ...natural instinct.
Next Captain has to be real good and I mean real good we will be going into a rut ..its one thing to have a good coach and staff and another to lead the players out .He has to inspire as we will be pushing shit up hill for a while .Now remember the Carney scenario ..couldve divided the boys and I think it did a bit...same can happen over Pearce.

He is just incredibly confident and passionate for someone so young.
Some people are taken aback by this and have misinterpreted it as arrogance or ego but I think he showed a lot of maturity
to recognise this and reign himself in a bit over the last year.

Just needs to learn patience and control which will come with experience and he will be a great halfback and future captain.

By all accounts the players really like Jackson now.

And his dream is to captain the Roosters.

I doubt anyone else there has that as their major goal.

But it is probably too soon.

Jackson's time will come if he earns the respect of the players and demonstrates leadership on the field. From a supporter sitting in the stand Jared leads by actions on the field. As an off field rep for the club I think he would be great. Whether carrying the captaincy interfers with his natural game. I don't know how the players respond to him and how he can carry a coach' s plan with him. I am sure he will sort out the communications with the referee.

I am very comfortable with JWH Friend combination until we get a half or fullback that can fill the role.
