The reason fans feel like that against Pearce is because he has embarrassed our club. Many already disliked Jnr because of play and past issues. Others who supported him have had enough of his antics and no longer support him. It doesn't help that we have had bad reports from other players for offield incidents in the past 12 months. As the captain of the club, he should have known better but he's thick. Even if he decides to clean up his act, he will never amount to much on the field. Whatever his best was, may have gone past him by now.

        It says two things IMO
        - that moral outrage is the new national passtime
        - that lotsa people on here hate Pearce in the same way people hated Finch - because he wasnt good enough for their high standards

This whole thing is beaten up beyond belief - makes me farging sick

Been going through these forums for a while and thought i'd sign up. Not a Roosters supporter but i'm obsessed with league and like to see what happens around all the clubs, so i'm fairly unbiased and not here to shit talk.

Anyway, the Pearce situation in my opinion doesn't really reflect badly on the club, just on the players. The guy is old enough to make his own decisions and even though he was advised by the club to go straight home, decided to go to a party with people he'd only just met.

IMO you guys should let him go, because it just isn't worth having him if there's a chance he could f*ck up again. The guy has a problem and needs to seek help, get a real job and realise how lucky he has it. Maybe then he can join another club, or even re-join Easts.

It could spell a few lean years on field but off field it'll make sure everyone knows the consequences if they disobey the rules.

It's a shame for Pearce that he has to be made an example of but he's not only embarrassed himself or his family, but his teammates, club, supporters and sponsors. Just what I think.

I wonder if this whole thing wasn't filmed and we knew nothing about the whole incident .....would be interesting to see if he would of put his hand up and said he had a problem with the booze or just went to training the next day as normal?

I'd go for the latter option,
that's what Raper and Langlands used to do.

If Pearce was as good as Fittler, I wonder if there would be any outrage about his off-field behaviour...??

Yes Fittler got drunk and from memory... It happened once which was reported. I don't think I saw Fittler being escorted by police for touching a woman at a club or pretending to hump a poodle. But you're right about Pearce not being talented like Freddy. No big loss IMO .
