Looks like an early knockoff for the lads...but the interesting part is to see the guys who haven't been seen before in East's top grade...for hints of promise and good things to come hopefully.

I have watched so many of his games and Nikorima and I am very disappointed and to think the club selects Anasta. No wonder the club has problems
You do realise this is only a 9s tournament don't you and that most clubs are not selecting their prize players. Given that Nikorima is now one of two first choice halves to start the season, I wouldn't expect him to be risked for the 9s.

And the reason Anasta has been chosen is that he can be counted as a 'marquee' and so that's one less of our topline players that need to be selected to meet the criteria.

You can start the whinging and bitching if Anasta plays in the World Club Challenge instead of Nikorima.

The squad is a mixture of the old, the new, and the maybes/wannabees, just as it should be. Not every young bloke with potential can be included, which is why Taylor may have missed the cut.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

A Mickey Mouse team for a Mickey Mouse tournament. No complaints from me!

You seem to have some sort of obsession with this Charlie Taylor. You keep harping on about him being a 9s specialist. Forgive my stupidity, but I'd be much prefer players that are 13 a side specialists

A quick question for you Mrs Taylor, how can anyone be described as a 9's specialist? I doubt he has played a game of 9's in his life.

Worriers are desperate to finally win it - selecting RTS and Johnson. I hope they don't.

I do mate sick of seeing good talented wasted and when you have speed you are good at both. I also spend time getting around and watching players and getting to know them. Are you happy with that ???

A good young team. Looking forward to seeing how the best of our young guns handle the step up. Obviously Latrell should impress although really looking forward to also seeing Manu, Watson and Butcher run around. Watson looks an intelligent and creative half and butcher a tough lock. Not surprised to see no Nikorima even given his place in the recent events the potential loss of MP means he needs to be protected.

I was surprised he wasn't named, surely he was a better option than an old slow hooker like Henderson. Maybe he has an injury and wasn't considered.

and did it ever occur to you that maybe Nikorima isn't going because he is the only halfback at the club who would be available for round 1? How stupid would it be to take him to the nine's and see him suffer an injury? Did you ever think that through? Did that little peanut sized object floating around between your ears give that some thought? I would doubt it.

Me too AP. I've been watching my old VHS tapes recently of some wonderful victories and I am happy to report that Rabs & Gus were just as annoying back in 2006 as they are today.

might end up being a very wise decision by the club to rest the majority of our stars, seems there are some major concerns about the state of the Eden Park surface which hosted the Aust/NZ cricket one dayer on Wednesday.

certainly going to be a very hard surface for the players but the biggest problem is if the rain comes as expected and the field turns into an ice rink.
