How stupid would it be to take him to the nine's and see him suffer an injury? Did you ever think that through? Did that little peanut sized object floating around between your ears give that some thought? I would doubt it.

A WHOPPING $1 million bonus will be given to this year’s Auckland Nines winner should a bold proposal — to reward the Nines/NRL premiership double — be given the green light.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal Duco Events, who runs the Nines in conjunction with the NRL, is keen to offer up the staggering cash bounty from as early as this weekend.
Designed to bring even more hype to the Eden Park carnival, the seven-figure sum would be gifted to the Nines champion should they also go on to win the NRL Grand Final in October.
It’s understood Duco, who is willing to fund the entire prize, have put the proposal to the NRL. The company is hoping for the deal to be signed off for either this year or next.
Already, the Nines offers up $2.3 million in prizemoney
Certainly, the cash bonus would encourage clubs to send their strongest side to Auckland and challenge for the Nines title.
Ironically, the Nines winners from the past two years — South Sydney and North Queensland — have also won both NRL premierships in that same period.
However, North Queensland won the Nines in 2014 and the NRL Grand Final last year while the Bunnies did the reverse, claiming their NRL title before going on to win the shortened competition the following summer.

They should have announced this ages ago.
It's too late to have any bearing on this one so I doubt they will apply it now.
It would make some clubs take it more seriously.

$1 million goes a long way in terms of sports science/gym equipment etc.
if this is approved clubs would be mad not to chase the prize.

I've completed my 9s analysis for the pen fans who like a footy punt. Teams arranged in 4 groups according to strength of rosters sent over.
Shit: dogs roosters.
Bad: manly knights tigers dragons raiders
Good: broncos souths eels storm sharks titans
Great: warriors cows panthers.
Bets determined by teams being 2 classes higher than another team. 21 games over the weekend with 8 potential bets. Specials are teams in great group versus teams in shit.
Potential bets.
Day 1 (+ time of game)
1030 rabbits
1120 cows
1220 warriors (special bet of the weekend)
315 panthers
340 cows
415 warriors
440 broncos.
Day 2
835 storm.
That's the strategy and that'll be my multi.
Edit: that's also what I've done at work the last few hours. God I cant wait for the footy to be back.

Thanks for the analysis and thoughts. I love a punt as much as most but must admit the 9s scares me a bit as not all teams bring the same level if intensity and results can be unpredictable.
Good luck and be interesting to see you close to the money you go.

I can see some mob going broke and not paying it.
I don't think it would make us send our top players.

I remember reading about it a couple of months ago. Maybe back then it was only an idea and only now is it close to reality
