We really need another left centre. Justin Carney was a turnstile out there.

Can't see why he and Leilua can't swap positions.
Thats a bit harsh with calling carney a turn style, the knights obviously targeted That side of the field especially with the inexperienced of naughton on the wing.

Carney made 20 tackles and missed 3.
Naughton made 6 and missed 1.

It is clear that JC was doing what he could to protect Naughton on the wing. Hardly turnstyle type figures.

I totally agree with you SM,Carney held his own out there yesterday and deserves to keep his spot!

Wes Naiqama made it look like Carney had concrete floaties on with a move he put on him in the first half. If he is putting moves on you then it doesn't give you much hope for when you come up against quality centres.

        Thankfully Tonga plays left centre.

ok, lets look at that statement. Wes made one move on JC in the first half

None of the Knights back 5 made a line break, including Wes.

i am not saying that JC is the answer to all our woes, i think that there is some over statement of these defensive deficiencies.

I really don't see anything note worthy about Naughton. He let in a try yesterday, was woeful from dummy half and looked like he had no idea. Id much rather filthy Phil stadning on the wing than this pretender

                JCarney - 20 tackles 3 mistackles
                SKD - 8 tackles 2 mistackles
                Leilua - 1 tackles, 2 mistackles
                Naughton - 6 tackles, 1 mistackle

So you claim JC is slow and a useless defender, and you want him replaced with the worlds slowest outside back with the worst defensive stats for the weekend....ok.

I think most good judges would have Leilua in the centres ahead of Carney.

He is just a better footballer.

Not as an outside back. The guy is the slowest outside back in the comp. Symonds and FPN looked more dangerous than Leilua has all year in their brief stints on the wing.

How is it that Leilua does not appear to be developing??

I still think he can be a superstar, but it is frustrating watching him this year....

I don't know what his best position is. I thought it was impact back-rower off the bench, but he seems to get smashed these days when he hits the line..??

He is only 19. Let's give him a chance.

Depends how fast you want someone to develop, as well as how fast they will actually develop. Like vasco said, BJ is only 19.

personally, i think BJ is developing nicely as a winger, he is getting safer under the high balls and his confidence is growing. while not the ideal size and shape for the role, he is growing into it.

This may be the team we see for the next few weeks: (until linetts return)

                          Mini
                          Leilua
                          J Carney
                          SKD
                          Perrett.

No point in breaking up the leilua/SKD partnership, that seems to be working well

What about Braith's stint on the Wing last week? I will be honest, I mistook FPN for BJ when he ran down the sideline before passing to SKD for the first try.

You'd be about the only one. If Naughton was woeful from dummy half, what's Graham? Wet, decaying lettuce perhaps? People here need to get a grip. That was his SECOND - again - SECOND NRL game. Graham is either too lazy to get involved or shows little enthusiasm.

I know DT dreamteam stats dont provide a great comparison but I'm too lazy to locate all the info.
Graham - average over 3 games is 18.67
Naughton - average over 2 games is 40.00
