Pearce can stay in Thailand as far as I'm concerned.

Whilst I am an unashamed supporter of Pearce and will always have time for the huge effort he puts into our beloved Roosters jersey, I have to agree with Cogburn re Nikorima and the significance of what happened the other night in the north of England.

Apart from the revelation of Horrie Hastings moving in from the centres to displace the legendary Johnny Mayes back in 77 can I remember such an impact - Fittler notwithstanding, but he was royalty.

Recall the early Gould years and all the halfbacks we burned through our roster - not to mention Ricky and his Wing/Finch/InsertNameHere shenanigans.

On the subject of Pearce, given what Nikorima has now delivered, where was the reasoning in landing Farah? Just doesn't add up, can't help feeling that there's a greater push happening from the inside that we are unaware of.

For what its worth, I can't help feeling that it's gonna be a cracker of a year, we may yet even land the big one - and how sweet would that be.

Well said. There is way too much of an instant gratification mindset on here there days.

Certainly not everyone, but definitely a vocal minority.

If we lose two in a row you are going to hear things like: "a bench player at best", "throw the checkbook at Cronk" , "we need Carney back", and "we got the wrong Nikorama brother, thanks a lot POS!"

A vocal minority who want the best possible players for the Roosters, no shame in that.

Nikorima will get bashed in first grade. He will take more time than what Mitchell will.

From hearing Robinson statement this morning he said Niko and Latrell will start in our first game -I hope so .
O sully is sharp man some good kids coming through ......Still I would like to see Meehan return but is my hopes dashed in that depar? heard is old man is now employed by the Manlly club ... security advisor or some thing.

JC. Agree but he is paid Marquee rates to deliver Bwaiff-esque performances. He removes significant funds from the Cap. Robbo's decision is can those funds (Pearce) be better allocated for the sake of the squad or is he better letting Pearce compete to get back to FG and earn another contract.

As far as I understand, it was Robbo who targeted Nikorima and it was Robbo who sealed the deal.

The venerable Cyril Connell, talent scout extrordinair who discovered Kodi & Jaiden at age 12 & 10.

Wayne Bennett who contracted the pair to the Broncos back in 2009.

Craig Bellamy, credited for creating and developing the concept of 'the spine" in RL who was outgunned by Robbo in final contract negotiations for his signature.

Trent Robinson himself, whose NRL coaching record and administration here at the Roosters speaks for itself.
So Bennett was signing players for the Broncos whilst coaching the Dragqueens??? Wonder if the Board at St George knew that he was two timing them!

We were offered Farah for $100k a year. Who would say no to that?

We now have Henderson. Thanks Obama.

I trust Robbo as well. If he chooses Nikorima over Pearce then that is good enough for me. It seems he will have the decision to make this year. And if Nikorima goes well then I doubt Pearce will be here next year.

How much is Pearce on? I didn't think he would have been on marquee money. Decent , but not that much.

I heard 750k plus so........Pearce still in the mix. Mixing mocktails I hope and comes back stronger. We need him this year and beyond, but all our players are getting tested now with the young fellas coming through

Don't be ridiculous. The pair received scholarships at Wavell State after being spotted shortly after arriving from NZ.
So I guess the date on the paperwork read 1/1/2009. And no, Bennett wasn't required to sign the forms either.

I thought he was bought to play of the bench anyway, so no hurry as the club is obviously going to stick with Pearce so Pearce and Hastings with Nikorima off the bench. the young guy will get plenty of minutes like Mort's did.
