Gotta laugh at the 5 voters who think he should play ASAP.

For starters he is not match fit.

What message does this send to Pearce himself? In all reality if he started round one or two, I am afraid he will have learnt pretty much nothing from this unfortunate series of events.

Niko and SOH have been getting their combos with themselves and the rest of the team together.

It could actually destabilise the team.

I am happy for him to return to the team after copping at least a $100K fine and a prolonged period of maybe 6-12 weeks of which he maybe could play 2 or 3 games with Wyong to learn some hard lessons and pick up some match fitness. The 50K fine doesn't cut it for me, from a salary of about $750K plus potential earnings of $100k (if he made Origin) a 50K fine is a drop in the ocean whereas a fine of at least $100K or pro-rata the amount of the games he misses plus training and playing at Wyong for a short period will make him learn the lessions he needs to.

Remember, he was made captain of our great club and the hierarchy showed great faith in him that he had turned around his behavior, attitude and learnt some valuable lessons in 2014 after the yellow dress incident.

Perhaps a stint working at a Donut shop too.

I honestly think he would be better off at a out of town club that is not so much in the spotlight. Maybe the Storm in 2017 would be the best possible move for him.

The Todd Carney litigation also has saved Pearce's career with us.

What he did wasn't worthy enough to be sacked over. It wasn't a good look, but doesn't justify tearing up his contract either. He deserves to be punished for what he did, whatever the club decides, whether that be 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks - whatever, but he should certainly be allowed back to play.

The NRL should take a leaf out of the MLB and ban Pearce for a number of games, not weeks. That way he can't sue.

A ban of 200 games would remove the problem.

I think you'll find the NRL already bans for games, not weeks in all circustances. Otherwise we'd have players serving their bans during the offseason and bye weekends.

I see some crackhead in the Daily Telegraph today suggesting Pearce should not be allowed to play again in the NRL. Ever. Period. Give me a break. Absolutely ridiculous. Time to move on from this incident.

That's Caroline Lumley, all round do gooder and feminist extraordinaire.

A waste of space as far as I'm concerned. She has no idea of what she's talking about - it's just an excuse to rant and rage at the male gender in general.

As a female footy fan, she frustrates the hell out of me, as her views are not those of anyone who knows anything about the game.

Well actually I was having a laugh when I clicked asap, more from the pov of sticking it to certain people on here really. And how do you know about match fitness? He's been tearing it up with sandor earl in the outdoor gyms of Thailand, whilst embracing Buddhist principles, ohming his way through frankincense and cricket entrails

                        .
Hi Parky, I think I understand this conundrum .
The famous 5 only want what they think will be best for the team.On this point we disagree with them.
But I dig the Rooster spirit.

If we're going to go down that road then I'll explain my stance has always been all deaths not caused by natural causes should mean life in prison.
