It's probably best to avoid the comments section of newspaper articles, lest you want to lose complete faith in humanity.

agree with you morley - to have temby a commonwealth prosecutor as shauns lawyer was a smart move. the magistrate was realistic besides scathing. no way would i want her to represent australia in any sport.

The club obviously knew they had good reason to stick by him, what with her demands and all.

              News just in ...

So happy for him. Now down to business next weekend.
NRL star Shaun Kenny-Dowall has been acquitted of domestically assaulting former partner Jess Peris.

EAT SHIT YOU LYING SLAG Peris People like you give decent females a bad name
If SKD was to chase costs, his action would be against the State of NSW & not Peris personally, as the State ran the case. It would have been proven that the case was frivolous and vexatious for him to get costs. It would probably be worth a punt, but I suspect SKD would just like to put it all behind him. If he wanted costs out of Peris personally, he would have to pursue a civil action. But there would be no point as she has no money.

I gave them up for New Year and 2 months on, have not missed reading online Australian papers. I only read a David Bowie article sent to me by Horrie Hastings and an article about how the DJ's Market Street store is up for sale the other day. If I want real news, I read the New York Times. The UK websites are just as trashy as ours when it comes to clickbait.

Like all here I condemn any sort of DV.

I am glad that SKD got off on all counts.

I am saddened that genuine victims of DV will now have a harder time being believed in the future.

Hopefully SKD can just concentrate on Footy now. As a bunny with teeth, I hope this return to normalcy includes a dropped pass on the try line like round 2 2015!

Thank God the season starts soon, after such a terrible cricket season on the box.

And may Rebecca Wilson get hit by a bus. That ugly bitch is everything that is wrong with sports journalism.

I don't think that's true, Bunnywithteeth. The clear inference from the judge's ruling was that Peris made up this story to extract money from the club. She'd tried this trick before with a similar result.

What is probably true is that SHE will have a harder time being believed in the future.

All the best for Sunday's big game and congratulations on the teeth. Do you have a full set? Are they implants or dentures?
