Good point spirit regarding future DV victims.

As you & the axeman are clearly interested in issues with bite so to speak, I can confirm the following:

Born with the set of pearly whites.

Managed to keep them in spite of spending my youth in a houso Hilton.

The ravages of time has cost me 2 teeth over the years, but parkway can attest that I've got the rest.

Re Sunday's game, Mitchell over J.Burgess surprises me a little. Do you think he'll mark Johnston or Gray?

Latrell played on the right side in England, so that might give you a clue. I expect there will be a few errors in him, but I am looking forward to seeing his development. As for Burgess, the coach said he's got to learn a few things about NRL play before he gets a run.

All the best. Enjoy the game and your thermos full of hot dogs.

Received my response from the Premier.
Interested if everyone else who wrote received the same canned response....

"Thank you for your correspondence regarding Shaun Kenny-Dowall. I am replying on behalf of the Premier.

Your comments have been noted and will be brought to the Premier’s attention at the first available opportunity.

The Premier believes that every man or woman is innocent until proven guilty. However, when charges are laid for an offence of this type, he makes no apologies for calling on the NRL and other high-profile sporting groups to show leadership.
          Thank you for writing.
          Yours sincerely"

So if a CEO residing in Point Piper is charged with similar offences (and stats are showing domestic violence is on the increase in the eastern suburbs amongst the elite) I can expect to hear Mr Baird voicing his opinions again? Or is it just sportsmen in general he has issues with? What about politicians or religious leaders? They too are high profile...

NSW Premier Mike Baird has refused to apologise for calling on the NRL to stand down Shaun Kenny-Dowall before his trial, despite the Sydney Roosters star being acquitted of all 11 charges of domestic violence against his former partner Jessica Peris.

Premier Mike Baird: “Sporting groups should show leadership”. Picture: Gregg Porteous

When Ms Peris — the daughter of former Olympic athlete turned federal Labor senator Nova Peris — first went to the police in July last year, Mr Baird dived into the debate calling for the Kiwi international to be stood down by the governing body.
“Everyone is obviously allowed a right and an opportunity for this case to be proven,” Mr Baird said at the time.

“But I think if the NRL was going to send a strong message, they could say, ‘We don’t want you to play until this case is proven’.”
Sydney Rooster’s coach Trent Robinson then described the comments as “disappointing”, accusing the Premier of not knowing anything of the background of the case before offering up his opinion.
At the time Kenny-Dowall was not stood down, but missed a number of games over concerns around his mental health after he was admitted to hospital shortly after his arrest.
But yesterday Mr Baird remained unrepentant despite magistrate Gregory Grogin dismissing all charges against Kenny-Dowall and describing Ms Peris as a “calculating, evasive” witness who “intentionally framed” her answers “to make a speech”.
“Every man or woman is innocent until proven guilty,” Mr Baird said.
“However, when charges are laid for an offence of this type, I make no apologies for calling on the NRL and other high-profile sporting groups to show leadership.”
Kenny-Dowall is expected to play the Roosters’ first match against South Sydney on Sunday.

I wonder if he would stand himself down if similar allegations were thrown against him, even though he feels he is innocent?

The Roosters did show leadership. By acknowledging SKDs right to innocence until the matter was dealt with, they have shown due respect for the law. Pity the highest ranking politician in NSW is unable to do the same.

ha..yeah right. Did u seriously believe the premier was gonna read ya message? All that may happen is that u end up on a terrorist watch list as an enemy of the state if u say anything against a totalitarian like Baird.

SKD was guilty according to Baird so that flies in the face of his innocent until proven guilty claim. Who voted for this imbecile...

The only thing u can do is help vote him out.

Not all all RR. I wrote to Baird to support SKD who the Courts decided was innocent and that our Premier's comments at the time were wrong.

It is all about votes and public opinion for our Pollies so I let him know how I felt.

Innocent until proven guilty eh? But because you're an NRL player we'll assume you're guilty and stand you down.
