Part of his rehab in Thailand must have involved public relations.

Good on him though for showing balls and doing all these media gigs.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

      G'day mate..

I agree with you, but think he must've done an intense public speaking course as well..

He goes to Thailand for rehab and the media get on his back for leaving the country to avoid facing the music.
He comes back and gives an interview to whoever wants a bit more of him and repeatedly apologises and that is because it is all orchestrated.
FMD whatever he does some flog is going to have a go at him.
        100%
If he would have laid low all the Pelicans would be calling for him to stand up, show his face and apologise publicly.
The bloke carried on like a fool, that's it. As a leader and a captain of this club he should have known better and for that he has been stripped of his responsibilities at the club.
Does he deserve to have his contract ripped up, not in my opinion. Does he need a clause added that 1 more issue and your gone, definitely.
I'd like to see him come out and say "I've made a decision to take 3 months off footy to get my self right mentally and earn some respect back from my club and my team mates" That to me would show a great sign of maturity from someone who was thrust into the limelight at such an early age and also show he is not all about Mitchell as some on here think he is.
Yes he would be putting his position at the club at risk but it would prove a lot to some of his detractors as well

Mate he doesn't need to prove anything to any detractors. He has to prove himself to his team mates and the club.
He doesn't even need to prove himself to the supporters. There are those that see that what he did was nothing more than an idiot on the piss. We all have those mates. Then there are those who don't like the way he plays and uses this incident to justify the club getting rid of him. Neither side will move regardless of how much time he takes off.
He could take a year off and he would still have idiots bagging him while he is off and when he comes back.
It is clear that the club wants him back asap. I don't see why the NRL need to make him the scapegoat from the errors they made in the past when they allowed players to play during the year after admitting bashing a woman. Pearce was not even interviewed by police because they had no cause.

              Well said Buddy
The NRL have backed themselves into a corner I believe because of what Kathryn Lumby said. They will feel the need to come down hard on him all because of her statement at the time.

Aside from that, it was refreshing, whether it was rehearsed or not or whether the PR guys wrote it to listen to him talk about alcohol. To often you hear blokes say I'm getting off the grog for good and bang, a month later Buzz has him on the middle page of the Sunday rag having a beer.
To hearMitchell come out and say what he did about being off the grog for now but not wanting to say I'll never touch it again sounded really honest. It was good to hear
