At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.

The fireworks at the Easter show are making more noise than the crowd tonight

being a penrith 1st grader does not mean they have to be a panther
junior, penrith district covers all western sydney except for south west where parra has that covered, thats why we have the best juniors in the competition.

Actually Western City Tigers are Penrith juniors....I know this as my own lad is a Tiger and is one of Michaels biggest fans........
And his damned player cardand NRL card have a big picture of a panther on it......ewwwwww.......
I just wanted to point out that he is from Hebo not Penrith....thats all......
and willie mason to be tackled by a bloke half his size ( lachlan coote )
and also knock the ball on was really poor.
he only knocked it on because no other ****er was supporting him, he could not do anything, the rest of the side was looking at the divot Ahn Doh made in the celebrity challenge on the footy show from thursday night !!!!

The ball being knocked out has nought to do with his size rather than Ball control, which is a major breach in our club.......
And Yes Mason is huge, but the bigest man can be brought down by being tackled around the legs, it is the most effective way to bring them down, but now days a player who tackles around the legs or body is likely to be penalised, ala Sonny, because the ball and all tackle, is not the way of the game these days......where as Cootes was just a simple leg tackle and you cant run if your legs are locked up......
Mason did not knock the ball on. But as Phantom says, a tackle around the legs is the best way to stop a big bloke.
That performance last night was the most embarrassing I can remember. I feel for the sharks going so bad but that was much worse. We deserve to be at the bottom of the ladder, no doubt.
For Freddie to not take Anasta out of the FB position and put Perrett in there shows a total lack of a clue. Fair enough if we were only a few behind but we were bleeding.
I am not sure how a coach can teach blokes to hold the ball though. There are a LOT things that do go wrong week after week that he should be addressing.
The players must have lost respect for the coach, that is all I can put it down to with efforts like that.
For the first time I can remember, I stopped watching. That was after THREE minutes.
However, like the proverbial kid who occasionally sneaks a peek at the horror movie on the screen, I couldn't help but watch. And each time I did, it got worse.
But I think I'm starting to get numb to it all.
Someone has got to go. Or change. Cause they are as bad a rabble as when Anderson was coach...

They should get some of the coaching staff from the galloping greens to help out with their tackling. Union tackles are always about taking away the legs rather than going high and grabbing the guy around the collar while you wait for 3 more guys to get in there and help you out.
Stanley Waqa's tackle last night was one of the most stupid tackles I have ever seen; could have broken the guy's neck, and all it did was put the Roosters in more trouble.
I reckon good clean tackles prevent a lot of stupid penalties that come from the big group hugging session tackles. They also require less commitment; if 1 man can stop the player around the legs then you leave all of your men in line ready to make the next tackle. They also use less energy because they haven't just picked up a 100kg rugby player and tried to drop him on his head.
This is also good when the tackle fails... if 4 men try to tackle 1 guy and that tackle fails (e.g. he offloads while 4 men are grabbing him) then... OUCH! There's a big gaping hole! (saw it too many times last night.) On the other hand, if 1 guy goes for it and misses, he's got his mate's standing in line ready to back him up; they can also reduce the guy's options by marking people he could potentially offload to (forcing him to go to ground or make silly mistakes that can lead to turnovers.)
