Id love nothing more than to see this kid, round em up in teh sheds including our carefree captain and tell them:

"Now listen up yo blokes...you are either with us or against us. There is no room for cats and cry babies. Weve got heads to smash and Premierships to win. Who's with me? The rest there's the ****ing door, leave your captains arm band on the bench on your way out and turn your back on this great club and this team for the last time!"

That would be great especially if he ended with "Go Easts!".

Nah....They put up with Friend, they put up with Shit monster, they put up with Carney.

Its about money. Nate left because he was going to get a salary cut (cap pressure).

They wont re-sign Anasta because the fool wants big dollars.

Its always been about money at this club and its no different now.

if it is friend what a turnaround from being sacked to captain in the space of 2 yrs. based on this thread alone my money would be on kennedy, but also like the idea of joint captaincy with pearce. both still very young though which makes me think maybe this forward is ryles as he said he wanted to go round again, and surely if mini is here next year he would prob be considered.

Hopefully the fact that these blokes are being released due to that fact shows that we are changing that perception.

                Good move if the case.

As for that forward.......make him captain now. Weve been calling it for a while. And make me a sanga as well.

A few have been saying the results this year is the work of the power brokers not the coach.

really? Whats your theory PTB? Politis begged him to stay but the GC offer was too good? or was it the other rumour about the shit monster no doubt youve heard?

He is our best forward. he didn't want to leave but was left with no option.

He was on a fixed term contract for next year, so he was not going to have to take a salary cut.

He is definitely our best forward without a doubt, so in many ways I am sorry to see him go.

I have heard a few stories which i have no idea if are true or not, but it was not because he was going to take a pay-cut...

I think this is the best for both parties if this rumor is true, The team needs a new direction and having Braith as Captain in the forwards i believe wouldn't inspire the team at all when he is just standing on the left edge of attack. He was the clubs Five-Eight but lost his position and now we are trying to find a spot for him in the team just because he is captain.

He really should of been dropped in the middle of the losing streak with the efforts he was putting in. Then finally he shows a glimpse of what he is capable of when he is shifted back to Five-Eight last week. He should move to a club where he can play his preferred position because its quite clear that's where he believes he plays his best football.

His Salary can be well spent elsewhere.

                            Here is the guff..

The Hellenic one will be leaving - this is his last year at the tri-colours, and do not be surprised if he skips out before end of the year. He will be leaving due to the same reason that Snapper head has. No doubt you all know the reason why, and it is as simple as a betrayal from the decision makers at our club of those who bleed and suffer each week for the jersey. Now they say - 'what is the point. my past efforts count for nothing in the eyes of my superiors'. B. Smit is not behind this and decisions have been made beyond his control. There has been a division amongst the players, as a direct result of the breaking of loyalties between certain players and decision makers at the club following the debacle involving He of the Carnival. It is the only real reason why the team is performing poorly and incohesivly. It feels like we are almost strangers on the paddock compared to last year.

On the positive side, several key players, in particular a half and a forward have stood up and presented themselves as our next leaders. We will be in good hands come 2012 i am sure - this year is done, and worse is to come throughout 2011. I worry we truly will becoming the laughing stock of league this year if things pan out as i have been told.

I am not trying to stir the pot.

Make of it what you will
This is the part that has always worried me. The things behind the scenes that are possibly being hidden. What more will come out if anything? Do we expect that the players will just not put in for the rest of the year because of this apparent division amongst the players? How many players are not happy with the decision makers because one thing is certain, those decision makers will still be around next year.

And if this is all true, then those bagging Smith should reconsider what he actually has control of within the team. Does he have full autonomy in team selections? Did he get rid of Mescia? Did he employ the current training staff? He seems to have a very laid back persona this year even though we have been going shit. Is he just biding his time waiting for all the shit to hit the fan? Do the players actually respect him but it's the decision makers they have the gripe with?

It doesn't give me any confidence for a late season resurgance.

The club became a basket case since 05
The Bennet sidestep probably was the trigger later on.
The club as a whole redeemed it self last year..every thing was good .....what really has farked it all up? surely it cant be just one guy on the piss ?
When things do go good every body wants to be a hero and a slice of the pie that happens heaps in modern day businesses-find out who they are and piss em off.

It's partly due to the story you've been told but mostly due to the fact that his contract would have been significantly reduced after 2012.

I know if I was told my salary was dropping by a third I'd walk pretty quickly.
