One broke the law and got SFA and the other didn't and was crucified in comparison that's the outrage.

And that is why us fans are so frustrated with the NRL ... the big inconsistencies with each penalty.
But does this mean that WoManly are the flavour of the year, considering this slap on the wrist for Knight and the 1 week suspension of Tapau???

That is far worse than being a fool in a private home where no crime was committed and no-one's life in danger. And i disagree that players should be treated differently depending on how famous they may or not be. I am merely pointing out the inconsistencies handed down by the NRL. It disgusts me that women bashers are still allowed to run around and collect trophies and premiership rings and they are still revered by the media. I'm still of the opinion that the $125k fine is way too harsh and I expect consistencies from the governing bodies. You can't pick and choose which players are to be held up as role models and which are to be ignored. Once the jersey is put on and that contract signed, all registered players should be held accountable for their conduct as employees.
Top notch post. The big issue is that the nrl has set a dangerous precedent by allowing the media to dictate a players punishment. It seems now that it's only a crime if it's on film.

One (basically a no name) made a mistake in breaking the law that a lot of people in society do whereas the other (a club captain and origin player) is a complete idiot who has been in trouble before.

One of them is so unknown that if you asked a lot of non manly fans, they either would not have heard his name or if they did know his name then they probably wouldn't remember what he did wrong. The other (the idiot club captain and origin player) made international headlines for the wrong reason.

Life can seem unfair a lot when trying to compare things.

            The NRL?
It's the media who decide punishment.

Your trolling right, you must be. One embarrassed himself and the club and Knight was speeding whilst DUI and could have killed people, your logic escapes me.

Being image concious is not a good excuse for setting such a bad example.
The nrl is not an individual with human frailty .
It is a big concern that is totally occupied with making money.

Pearce let his own club and fans down big time, but the nrl shouldn't have the right to dictate punishment if they can't back it up with common sense .
