  • Strength and conditioning coach.

Who is the current strength and conditioning coach? I'd be interested in seeing the stats for injuries since the new coach replaced Keegan Smith. Obviously our roster was great in 2013, but I distinctly remember a lack of soft tissue injuries in comparison to other clubs whilst Keegan was coach. We've had two pec tears this season already, which in my opinion stems from over training or not enough time in recovery/rehab. Particularly Copley's last night was quite innocuous.

I remember Keegan wouldn't even let the players bench press, favouring overhead presses instead. Food for thought.

We had a good run of luck. Now it is the reverse.

Dont read too much into it.

Copley has always been injury prone and all it takes is expanding and contracting the muscle quickly at a wrong angle.

I don't believe it's luck. Players shouldn't be tearing pecs in the absence of high impact collisions. Copley barely slid his hand on the ground. Obviously his pec was jacked very tight for that to tear it. You'd have to think it's from too much time in the weights room or not enough time with recovery and physio. Some clubs are forever battling injury crises. Penrith, tigers etc. They're finely tuned machines that need expert strength, conditioning and nutritional coaches. Keegan was revolutionary, perhaps pushing the boundaries of what was legal.. But he had results.

In 2015 it was Scott Campbell. Joined the club from the St George Illawarra Dragons. Scott also holds this role with the Samoa national side and brings expertise and great experience to the role.
