Is anyone else sick of our wingers running in and not committing themselves to a attacker? Now theres a school of thought that Nikorima is the reason they are getting caught out in numbers.Whos fault was it in 2014 & 2015? Does Trent Robinson have a plan B because other teams have worked it out. Its like we have our heads in a bucket of sand pretending that the up and in defence works .What worked in 2013 doesnt work anymore . Perhaps a look at the Broncos defensive structure would be good.
Which brings me on to Tupou. Why cant he use his shoulder in defence? This grabbing business is not good enough.Cross field running is not good enough-especially when you catch the ball on your goal line.Ball security-he is good for at least 1 first tackle drop in his quarter every game. What happened to his jumping in attack? Last year he got repeatedly run off the ball so now he has just given up. Its nearly as if he is scared to jump in. A stint in Wyong Roos is what he needs
It doesnt matter who we got on the wing, opposition wingers know they are nearly always going to be left unmarked more times that not. Opposition halves know a cut out pass or kick over the top will lead to a try. What kills me the most is when our wingers run inbetween the opposition winger and centre just waving their arms around. If you do come in make sure you nail someone.Check put SKD's effort last night running in and trying to slap the ball out of the centres hand. What the hell was that about? Its like he conceded nothing could be done. Wheres Jack Elsegood when you need him??? When he came in wham someone would get smashed. It would make the attacker think twice next time round.
If all else fails and our dated defensive system wont be changed i suggest having a punt on the opposition wingers to score a try.It eases the pain.

It was all Toups fault that we were done 40 nil. Bloody wingers.

SST should play alongside Niko. I can't believe the size of his motor. He worked his arse off last night and looked like he could play another 40 with no sign of fatigue.

Opposition teams are running at Guerra 2 and 3 times in a set. They make him work hard early in each half and then he's gassed and pulled of shape with ease.

Cords left edge when he returns with SST on the right.

Guerra's been crap for the last 2 years with very very few good games in that period, like Myles when he was with us you only see good games when Origin is near. Whatever the club is paying him it's too much.

Watch it again. If you still blame SKD for that try, you are blind to Ferguson's poor read.

Yeah i watched it.Absolutely no reason for SKD to run in.He committed himself to taking no one,nor was he any chance of stopping the ball-no mans land. Its like our wingers are assuming that the centre cant mark up.It just created the overlap for Manly when there wasnt one.

Im not blaming him personally-its what our wingers are coached to do.It doesnt work anymore. The Broncos wingers hardly ever leave their opposite unmarked. Its doing my head in but its providing my mates with amusement and im shouting beers

Our wingers need to learn to stay on their wings in defence.
IMO SKD belongs at no 4 and must never be moved from that position again.

I respect your opinion but I don't agree with it. In my view, Ferguson gets caught ball-watching and SKD has to try to cover him.

Its all happening so quick so I dont blame anyone. The Roosters didnt lose because of any individual they played really well. It came down to goal kicking.

In runs SKD to take.....no one yet again. Now its going to be Tupou's turn
Truth is if you cant create a overlap against the Roosters then just spin it wide and they will create one for you!

                          Amen.
I've said it on here many times.

Opposition wingers simply waltz past our wingers [doesn't seem to matter much who they are] and score/set up tries at will.
Nothing ever gets done about it.

It happened twice against the Warriors last Sunday!!! and we lost the match as a result.

SKD must be moved back to no 4...where he belongs.
Fergo must be no 3...and Burgess, Elliott, or Toops the wingers...and if they don't stay on their wings in defence and prevent opposition wingers getting past them on the outside, they must be dropped.

If nothing changes we'll struggle to even win one game this year...[bye bye Robbo?]

It has been happening on the right side well before Ferguson became a Rooster. Just more noticeable now because we are playing poorly.
