Since when is having a rebuilding year such a bad negative thing, and why would someone think it should result in a coach having their employment terminated? Where do you think the next crop of players come from? Very few new recruits are world beaters in their debut year. It took me all of last weekend scratching my head trying to remember the name of the next Peter Sterling at Parra. It was Tim Smith and look how he ended up. I think so much recent success has gone to people's heads and I'm not talking about players or coaches It's unrealistic to think we will be at the very top yet again this year. If we manage to make it as far as the top 6, I'll be pleased with that effort because I don't live in fantasy land.

Now excuse me as I must go clean before the Easter Bunny comes on Sunday.

Or maybe you completely missed the point that Maloney and Jennings were asked to leave despite us having $600k of salary cap sitting in the bank. Why did our club make a conscious decision to abandon a minor premiership winning roster?

I thought Freddy was more laid back than calm. I still think Freddy could do a Mal Meninga at Origin level.

I suspect anything less than top 4 next year and Robbo will be shown the door.
We are rebuilding from the top down....

According to a couple of bandwagon type ex Rooster players...

From RLW WING legend Bill Mullins has slammed the Roosters in the wake of the club’s shocking start to the season, claiming the players have lost their hunger and pride.

Missing key players Mitchell Pearce, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Boyd Cordner, the Roosters were expected to struggle in the early rounds, but no-one had them at the bottom of the ladder, winless after three rounds, the latest defeat a 40-point thrashing by the Cowboys.
“I know there are guys missing but losing by 40 points is pretty disgraceful,” says Mullins, the first Rooster to score 100 tries.
“The pride doesn’t seem to be there anymore and it’s a worry.
“They’ve lost all their mongrel in the forwards and clearly miss the aggro of Waerea-Hargreaves.
“They’ve gone from minor premiers for three straight years to this. The next few weeks is going to be a real test of character and I just hope they stand up and show some pride in the jersey again.”

Former Easts firebrand Terry Regan believes the players have lost the respect of rival packs, who have ridden roughshod over the Roosters for three straight weeks.
The Chooks have conceded 103 points in those three games, worst in the NRL. In contrast, after three rounds last season they’d conceded less than half that – exactly 50 points.
“Other packs are having a picnic against them,” Regan says.
“If Waerea-Hargreaves was there, things would be different. But he’s not and someone else has to stand up and take control.
“At the moment, the forwards are all just standing around looking at one another. They’ve got to go out there and win back some respect before it’s too late.
“There’s only one way to do that: come out and hit the opposition hard. Right now they aren’t even coming close to doing that. They’re in a slump and have no-one to drag them out of it.
“They’re playing soft and getting punished for it.”
Mullins rates the potential of young halves Jackson Hastings and Jayden Nikorima while also pointing out that they “have a lot to learn”.
But he’s particularly scathing of young fullback Latrell Mitchell, even though the Roosters see him as a future superstar.
“His defence is disgraceful and his positional play is way off,” Mullins reckons.
“A couple of times I saw him in the Cowboys game taking a look at himself on the big screen – I think he was more worried about how his hairdo looked than anything else.”
"The only time you start at the top is when you are digging a hole."
