I always thought Latrell was going to be a star one day and 7 games in he has exceeded my expectations of where he would be now.

I don't like to pump up youngsters but he has the ingrediants if he works hard to be the most exciting player to come through our system for a generation and I suspect in a couple of years we will be saying Roger who?

Still only 18, gonna make silly mistakes as he is still just a baby in football terms.

I cannot wait to see him play once the big names return, the hype is justified for Latrell, as others have said he oozes class.

At the moment it seems like we are relying on him so heavily to get us points..
Others around him need to start stepping up!

For most of his mistakes, he comes up with something to even them out. Kid looks the goods, and surely we can allow him some rocks and diamonds moment since we accept it with so many other of our players.

A big positive to a poor season.

There are times where it easy to forget that Latrell Mitchell is so young as he plays that good but also there are times where his inexperience shines through however I believe he should be afforded a criticism free season to learn his craft and the player that he is to become. He has been thrown in to a difficult situation playing in a struggling team and in arguably one of the most important positions that requires a different set of demands on the body physically and he has shown enough glimpses of quality to get excited about the future.

I would like to see him improve his backing up a bit more and actually demand the ball a bit more often but I can understand that 7 games in to his career he will be a little reluctant to demand the football but when he's comfortable enough to go looking and demanding the footy more often he will be at his most dangerous.

If Latrell Mitchell keeps playing the way he is playing then I would not be surprised to see him win our clubs player of the year award.

No doubt he has a few mistakes in him but doesn't really seem to be a concern at the moment.

From what I've watched, he will be playing the house down by July on a regular.basis. Mitchell can play and is improving exponentially. I loved him running over Penrith close to the line

I think it'll be tough for an 18 year old kid to play through the whole season, he may well be peaking now.

He plays a very physical game and I don't care how big and strong he is, any 18 year old in their rookie season having only played 1 season of 20's prior is going to struggle to maintain performance over 26 rounds.

I think expectations of where he'll be in 10-15 rounds time need to be reigned in a bit.

Make no mistake Latrell is not just a very talented 18 yo. This kid has a 'grounding' like no other kid I've met his age. IMO this is what sets him apart from other talents. Sure, he can do it and he knows it but he understands this is just a scratching of the surface. I've watched him play golf for example, and there's no if's or but's to his game. It's the calculation of what is required on the day to execute the shot he has pictured and then its the focus, and next what is difficult to describe, but simply a sense of reaching within and pulling out just what is needed like he's dialling in the right amount of talent. He has been criticised elsewhere for being 'showy'... let me assure you he is not. He is if anything shy and would rather deflect any sort of attention.

Spend 5 mins with Latrell and you quickly come to understand where he's coming from re his comments about the GI comparisons made by the press. He puts no limitations on himself.

My understanding is he's a gun tennis player? He's related to Evonne Goolagong and had the talent, but chose footy.

People will compare him with GI because he's a gun indigenous fullback. He's got the height, athleticism and that farking ace 'throw the guy back 10m' fend. However, I think he's his own player.

Definitely destined for great things. IMO it would be lame as if we shunted him for Coote based on the fact Coote looks good playing for a dominant Cowboys outfit. TBH if we did, the Cowboys would probably sign Mitchell straight up, JT would take him under his wing, he'd fark us up big time and then he'd end up playing for QLD (where he'd slam NSW for the next 10 years - just to remind us that he was a Rooster and NSW player once upon a time). Like that old girlfriend who you dumped for the crazy hippie chick aged 18 because she was too serious... THIS ONE IS A KEEPER!! YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU LET HIM GO!!!

Ive always been a fan of Latrell from the 1st time I saw him play in the 20s. He has the ability to become one of the greats of the game should he keep his head screwed on and he continues to develop in the manner one would expect. Once he cuts the errors out of his game then we should see him playing Origin for NSW then Australia Very happy we have him at our club and if I had any say in the matter I would be trying to secure him and extend his contract right now
