I'd been trying to take the rumours of player discontent with a grain of salt until last night. I'd hoped they were just the kind of things start to brew around any club when they lose a few games and disappear soon as they start winning again.

But something clearly wasn't right last night. They competed well until the cows first try, but then heads went down and the cows went length of the field from the next kickoff. It just seemed like after having a dig for the first 25 mins or however long it was, they'd had enough. Other ominous signs like the penalty for kicking the ball away.

So whats going on? Would be nice to hear something more substantial than the standard rumours of Myles and Anasta being unhappy about contracts and a split in the camp over the Carney booze problems.

There's gotta be more to it than that...

What a load of shyte,souths are in the same situation as us,it all comes down to recruitment,we farked up big time chasing the dogs trash which was compounded by hanging on to some has beens.The only bloke who we should have kept to see the club through this was Fitzy,what a monumental fark up that was,not to mention taking the captaincy off him just to appease Anastabator.

I reckon it is a few things (based only on observation)

- We overachieved last year which may have stifled this young teams development and Smith's license to clean house.
- The Carney problems seem to have been a significant disruption - not surprising given his huge role lat year
- We have had a big injury toll that has meant that key senior players have been out and combinations have been disrupted
- We are trying hard but the losses have hurt our confidence - again, not all that unusual given the young squad

Rome was not built in a day and we were never going instantly from the cellar to being a consistent contender. We have a strategy of building using our kids with an experienced coach at the helm. I hope we don't panic and that we stay the course - the results will come in time.

I disagree with you!

I actually think that if they didn't care they wouldnt have defended so well in the second half, and to be honest I think we were in it until they blew that forward pass against Naughton.

They defended 4 sets in a row (maybe more) and didnt let the cowboys in, got to the other side of the field and got over the line only to be disallowed. We were screwed by the end of it, I understand drop ball was our fault, but to say that they dont care n that their only on the field to get paid is off the mark.

We have a discipline problem, but as a team, I think we looked better than at other times this year.

The year early release of Myles must have something to do with the negativity. Does Smith acknowledge that Myles is the rotten egg in the team ? After all, he has a high profile girlfriend (If it wasn't for Myles I would never of known who she was) and face it, no team releases their best forward a year early. I'm putting my money on Myles has a bad stench and Smith needs him out.
