    Too much chopping and changing.

In the long run, Anasta will be a lock, Sa will be a backrower, Perrett will be fullback...that is what we should be aiming to establish now, and slot Jones or Tansey into the 5-8 position where he is needed.

    1. Perrett
    2. Waqa
    3. M Aubusson
    4. Jones/Tansey
    5. Kenny-Dowall
    6. Jones/Tansey
    7. Pearce
    8. Myles
    9. Friend
    10. Nuuausala
    11. Sa
    12. Shackleton
    13. Anasta

    14. Samuela (young bloke from U20's)
    15. Kouparitsas
    16. Mason
    17. Paea

People might complain that it weakens our halves, but what it does is assure that the rest of our team is stronger. Anasta, Sa, Perrett, SKD, Friend, Mason, Paea, Nuuausala, Myles are all in their most useful positions, and the two utilities Jones and Tansey can be stopgap solutions in the positions which need to be filled next season by signings (Carney, Inu, etc) but whom we do not have cover for as yet.

i can only see one of 2 reasons:

      1) to utilise his running game in more open space

      or

      2) freddy thinks the defensive line is frail and has a good defender at the back in the hope we will be able to stop breaks !!

      the mind boggles !
Some of Bwaiffs defence on the weekend was woeful mate, he was a speed hump. Sure Tansey has struggled in defence but Mini had always struggled in defence, alot of FBs do.

If Bwaiff at FB offers more than Tansey or Perrett, especially in the running game, I will retire from alcohol permanently.

I have to say Bwaiffs running game has been ordinary this season. Its usually been his best asset but hes looking more Fitz like, just gets stopped with the ball and halts the balls progress wide.

They said today in the papers Symonds is 18th man for Pearce and Shack who both have a few injury concerns apparently.

IF this is correct, Id say Freddys officially turned into pRicky, the winger on the bench, the use one benchie for 10mins, the picking 1/2 the side out of position and the inability to promote good inform youngsters over tired washed out overrated has beens.

      We are farrrrked.

Maybe Freddys trying to confuse that nuttjob Elliot???

      The FlogPen .

      You know it makes sense.

Not sure what you see in Jones. Perhaps it's just that he is playing out of position but he doesn't seem to have much quality about him.

Braith is at fullback because we need his speed to burn at the back. He was wasted at 5/8. May as well put the player who put in each week like Sa with his robust defence and blistering pace the ball the most.

            Good point big M.

I remember a Raiders game in 82 or 83 where Rowan Brennan was the fullback and was the top tackler with 42 tackles. He must of missed a shit load too that day, because they also leaked about 60 points.

What the point of my post was, not that Jones is good, but rather, than we use our utilities Jones and Tansey in the positions where we currently lack any genuine quality, whilst moving Braith, Sa, Perrett, etc to positions where their style of play is best suited.

I agree with Anasta at lock.
We have either Jones or Symonds who can slot into 5/8 for the rest of the season until Carney gets there next year.
We also need to move Maubs into the second row, once Williamson? is injury free he can slot into the centres. Have Perret and SKD on the wing. Put Luke Towers into Fullback until Mini comes back and then maybe Tansey into the centres aswell(dont really like this because of his defence), or maybe even Waqa on the Wing and Perret into the centres.

We need consistancy in our team spots, Mini is injured, why put Perrit there when u can put Towers there? Its only mucking up Perrit with all these moves.

If we can sign on a new centre, second rower and a hooker for next year we are set. Along with the signings of Maubs, Myles, The Shack and?

Our team could look something like this:

                1. Mini
                2. Perret
                3. Inu
                4. Williamson or is it Williams?(Mind Blank)
                5. SKD
                6. Carney
                7. Pearce
                8. Myles
                9. ????????
                10. FPN
                11. Shack
                12. Maubs
                13. Anasta

                14. Friend
                15. Kouparitsas
                16. ??????New second rower
                17. ???????

Just saw FOX Sports News and Tansey was playing dummy half during their session at the SFS.

                  Gulp.

Tansey in attack at 9 is a good move....we need some acceleration in the middle of the park......defence however, just wow.....he isn't a worker so unless he's playing fullback in defence I don't see how it works.

I'm just hoping for a team performance this week........they looked like strangers out there last week, reminded me of the Opes days, hunt like a pack of dogs you bastards!

If Braith plays FB then I can safely say I have seen it all in player positioning at the Roosters and I'm old enoiugh to remember the dark days of early 90's!

I think it is a good move! No good sticking to the same format when it's not working. At least the wingers will get to see the ball from some of Braith's clever passes.
I like the way Tansey has played so far but his defence is suspect, and almost anyone can play hooker these days.
                        Go Braith.

Lets just hope Freddy made them all watch the severe bagging Gus gave the team on last nights footy show..

If they can't fire the fark up after being told they don't try by one of "our own" on national television, then they have no pride...or are not real men..

Gee it was a Grade A cook he gave our whole team..

And they ALL deserved every word of it

Braith is perfect choice. Why haven't we seen this before? His reluctance to pass the ball shows why he is a great fit for FB. They rarely pass the ball coming off their own line.

You doubters don't have a clue.

could be a disaster or a stroke of brilliance...lets wait and see. most people seem to think the seasons all but over anyway so might as well give it a go
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths
