Refs got it wrong on Sydney Roosters utility Aidan Guerra in NRL: Tony Archer

NRL referees boss Tony Archer said his charges erred in not sending Sydney Roosters utility Aidan Guerra to the sinbin for a professional foul in the loss to the Warriors on Sunday.

    #####

    LOL

And what about all the other times they erred in their decisions during the match? Like when Roosters player Moa was whacked in the head with a seemingly short sharp 'swinging arm' and had to go off?
    Not even a penalty.

And what about all the other seemingly biased refereeing against the Roosters in the match?

Guerra 100% should have been binned. I almost expected a penalty try tbh. Was beaten easily for pace, held the bloke back for a few secomds and he was still first to the ball but missed the grounding.

Not sure what dodgy referring you are talking about against us. I suppose the penalty to square the scores before fulltime was quite petty (if holding down was penalised like that all game there would be 50 in a match against both teams) but still technically a penalty

Yeah I'm not gonna back Guerra here... it was lazy, stupid and he shoulda been binned for it. We mighta had some hard calls elsewhere, but we got lucky there.

THAT SAID... why was binning Guerra the right call? Coulda been an 8-point penalty try. Guerra realised that... right? He shoulda just let the 6 in IMO. Better than 8...

I think he is talking about the Issac Luke cannonball tackle on Kane Evans late in the game on the half way line. Evans got up hurt from it as he rushed up because he didn't want the penalty to be blown for him staying on the ground.

Remember, we don't play for penalties.

There is also talk that Evans may not play this week as it was a nasty hit. Funny enough Cecchin blew a penalty for Sam Moa in the first half for a cannonball tackle in which he had to go for a concussion test. Yet it did not do any harm on the warriors as much as what Luke did to Evans. The SKD interference late in the game was the worse for us as Hurrell did kick that ball away. They got the 50 / 50 call in which led to them levelling the game up as we were pulled up for a slow play the ball which was a joke cause it was the 4th tackle, and yet the game wasn't slowing down at all....

What the Roosters have to understand now is that when you are at the bottom of the ladder, you get constantly the dud officiating as we will have to put up with it!!!! For now...

Wouldn't have been an 8 point try. An 8 point try is when a foul occurs on the player in the act of scoring a try. In this instance no try was actually scored so it would have been a penalty try with the conversion taken from directly in front of the posts instead of where the penalty occurred

            Exactly.
Yes, the old "nice guys run last" is as true today as the day it was first stated.

Some people say that we're at the bottom of the ladder because of seemingly biased refereeing against us.

Time we started staying down when whacked in the head etc...and started playing for penalties....."stay down, and make them look at it" - footy program radio hosts have said.
            Time we also became 'thugs'.

Definitely should have been put in the bin.
I actually think we're getting more than a fair go now from the refs, cause we're crap. When we dominated absolutely there was a bias, as there is niw we're poor

Is this the same Archer who, despite photographic evidence to the contrary, backed the decision not to award the Roosters a match-winning try last week?

Has an NRL official EVER admitted error when such an error went against the Roosters? Did they even admit error when the Dragons winger virtually stepped off the field entirely in the 2010 GF, but was called not out?

There was the usual Reffing one team differently esp for the first quarter or so of the 2nd half from memory.

Less tolerance in the ruck for us, more tolerance for them offside. Bunker agonising over our try looking for a reason to deny despite on field ref awarding. Game changers esp when your struggling anyway.

No doubt Arch and his henchmen will get their chance on Friday to give Souths the roll as per round 1...to make up for this horrendous "error" re Guerra.

Yes we really were reffed differently from the other side in the 1st twenty minutes of the 2nd half We got about 5 straight penalties in that period The moaning about the referees on this ocassion is embarrassing

Some bad calls went against us, but some calls went for us. Can't blame the refs for this week's result.

I think the worst decision was the non-penalty for Hurrell kicking the ball in the ruck, to be fair SKD could've been pinged for an obstruction seconds earlier.

Archer has the least credibility to make comments on refereeing errors

Archer has also stated the magistrate erred in not convicting and jailing SKD.
