  • Fergusons involvement

His involvement or lack of really grinds my gears.

Wet conditions didn't help. Looked very cautious with going into touch, which wasn't a bad thing.

I can't remember a worse defensive centre than he has been this season.

There was actually a period of around 20mins when his defense was very good. The rest of the game, well .....

He actually defends one on one extremely well, its his decision making that sucks, I'm betting it will improve with the return of Pearce

I actually thought his involvementw as a little better tonight than it has been previously but I definitely understand what you mean. He is a noted strike weapon but just waits for the ball too much. A bit like Jennings.

Given Blake's talent, I'd like to see him more involved and that applies somewhat to the youngster at the back. What does annoy me about Blake are the poor defensive reads which shouldn't be happening as often given his experience.

Do you think his one on one 'tackle' on Walker was good in the Manly game?

When he is tackling with a purpose, driving in with his shoulders like the first 15min last night he's actually a good defender. When he is arm grabbing ala Toupo and that effort on walker he looks hopeless. His decision making is terrible though. So was Elliott's with Souffs first try. I really don't see the up and in defence working anymore. Coaches have worked around it. It's time to follow the Broncos slide defence structure, it's working well for them

Latrell Mitchell needs to get more involved.

Once our middle returns he won't have to make as many decisions hopefully. I bet qld have been licking their lips as it sounds like he's getting picked for origin.

I just wish he'd stop rushing up out of the line every bloody time & tackling no one & leaving SKD alone normally in a 2 on 1. Opposition teams know this & are targeting him every time..

                              Fergo is an impact defender.

20 minutes on. 20 minutes (or so) off with da fairies.
