Ideal replacement for Myles in terms of workrate.

    Kennedy
    Friend
    Hargreaves
    Symonds
    Aubusson
    Heighington

    ???
    Nuuausala
    Masoe
    Tasi/Ryles

Looks fine. Lose Anasta, Myles...pick up Heighington and maybe one other player.

He is EXACTLY the kind of player we need. Myles type workrate without the lazy bullshit. He goes hard.

But you watch our idiot club go after Blair instead.
I think you'll find the Tigs have committed to Blair at a hefty $$$ and therefore are rumoured to be allowing Moltzen & now Heighnington sniff around.
Weidler said on CH9 news tonight that Sheens might experiment with Benji at fullback in 2012 so in that case they need to keep Moltzen
as their five-eighth (sucked in Rusty).
If they are crazy to let Heighnington's go then some fortunate club will inherit a tough, hard working 80min forward. I hope B.Smith is a fan!!!

Sorry to disappoint but smith is not a fan of signing well known established proven performers (which heignington is one). Smith likes signing no name duds in the hope that he can miraculously transform them into world beaters

That would be the first sign that Tim Sheens has become demented.

Yes for me. He has a great attitude and would be a leader in our pack.

Has anyone actually had a look internally at someone like Mataka, or Tasi, who have done more in one game that our entire back row has done in 10 weeks?

Groom a kid we have a tonne of back rowers with heart...none of them play first grade though at the moment.

I laugh at how we criticise the club for buying everything out there, and the same people wanting Heighington will be complaining about his marquee status when he doesnt deliver. Just like you bastards are all whinging about Myles now. ****ing idiots.

We dont need to buy back rowers. We need 1 prop to replace I Robot, and we need 2 good outside backs, because we got rid of our decent ones.

I think Mataka and most other internal backrowers don't fit that workhorse bill that Myles fulfilled. Heighington is a slightly smaller but more explosive lock equivalent. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Cordner given a shot.

NO thanks...I do admire him as a player but he's 28 now and isn't a long term prospect...also he may not bring his enthusiasm and high work rate over here and treat us as the transit lounge that many have done...look internally at our youth or buy a young one that we can get some value out of and also a long term prospect...

Surely we have ample stocks in young back rowers...there must be a few of them that will develop into good FG players with some good coaching and mentoring...

the fact he is old is a good thing imo. see those opposed to to him coming is based on age making him not a long term prospect or on the fact that we should let the kids have a go first. the fact he is old means we will get around 3 seasons out of which is the perfect bridging time for us to have new talent come in and around him and adapt to first grade before we let him go. if we dont sign some experienced player and lose mini, braith, myles, ryles, piggy etc we will have a team of juniors who although maybe talented will be hard pressed to give us too much success short term. get heighington in there to lead them for a few seasons so that by the time he moves on the young guys will be well established in first grade. if we sign a younger guy, not only will they have less experience but they will effectively prevent the likes of cordner, lowe, tasi etc from getting a go in the forwards and they will look elsewhere. heighington would not cause this problem.

sign mitchell to replace riddell and watts, heighington to replace anasta and we need a prop to replace myles then i think our pack is looking good for next year. douglas would have been good, gibbs would be alright so would poore i guess. even maybe ben ross - yes he has had his injury problems, yes he plays for souths, yes he is old but he is going great guns for souths and cherning out great numbers week in week out and he wants to play on. would not command the big bucks and would some starch and experience into our young frontrow which could be more than handy. Coote also looks an idealic replacement for mini - he was awesome last night. great attitude on and off the field, all the skills, speed, safe at the back. i wouldnt look at a winger till maybe next year - imo once linnett is back from injury and some of the young guys get a go we will be alright along the 3/4 line.

Funny thing is that even though it's a yes from me for anything 350k or lower. I know that it will be a NO from him given the state we are currently in. It's a terrible time of the season to be going like busted arses because its when all the wheeling and dealing for next season is taking place.

For someone who praises the under 20s and Newtown so much, over doing it like a love sick mum, you have not mentioned even one of our own except to protect them like a brooding hen. if Cordner , Tasi and co are as good as you say, then they are the ones to fill in the spots. End of story. Do or die. Now or never. If it means we face 3-5 years of soul searching whilst they mature, the rewards await. But even you cant see it. Yep lets buy some other club's nuffies.

This is what is wrong with Eastern Suburbs. From the Chair to the fan.Opposition Players hate Easts and would hate to sign up with a pussy club like ours - its only about tehmoney at Easts....it always was.

When people start talking $300K for RL players, its unbelieveable. They are just not worth it.
1 Billion $ TV rights get ****ed, I do not want to pay more to watch RL and see more ads.

Anasta is not a forward, he only comes in handy if Carney is out, injured, there must be a few teams interested in his signature though as he has always been good with the No. 6 on his back.
