  • SKD - PLEASE STOP OFFLOADING

Souths two tries came off him trying to offload in situations he should not have. The first one i think he could have got over the halfway line on the first tackle and we could have gone into halftime either 12 or 16 points up..

The last one, you've won the game not long left just go down with the ball and let your defence do the talking if you go into touch.

That is how we won it was holding the ball and showing respect for it. Napa set the platform after the first hit of the game as all Burgess brothers including Turner and Carter.

Yeah Souffs only scored because of 2 dud offloads. SKD player a pretty awesome game (and had some decent offloads) otherwise though.

I'd put it out there actually... probably the best centre in the comp this season thus far.

He's been our best by far and has two brain explosions.
I forgive him, he's having a tremendous year so far, strong carries, line breaks, breaking tackles, just hold the ball son and keep doing what your doing

It wouldn't be our SKD if he didn't have a couple of brain explosions now & again..

Yeah he certainly gives me a heart attack with his offloads. His ball carrying though and determination is nothing short of inspirational.

I disagree that we won the game by holding on to the ball and I thought it was our second phase play that really did the damage to the South Sydney forward pack and got us out of trouble time and again.

SKD has been one of our best all year so we know he gets the odd brain explosion but we can forgive him.

He didn't cost us the 2015 semi-final but got our loss off to a great start with that Boyd intercept. Look back and laugh now - wept at the time.
No-one fluffs his line like SKD. But the great things he does DO NOT balance out these awful moments. He has to get them out of his game.
                      He costs us big time.

Bingo, and anybody who has played will know that nobody EVER plays a flawless game. Also, there's a VERY fine line between a cock up and a genius.

IMO regularly the commentators will go 'OOOOH MY GOD HE DIDN'T... THAT'S HOW AMAZING HE IS!!!' With me going 'but he farked up... that wasn't an amazingly fast tap aimed at tricking people... he dropped it, there was a lucky bounce and the unintentional awkwardness of it all tricked the heavily structured defenders'. Johns admits it sometimes... that many of his kicks came down to a lucky bounce that he had no control over.

IMO the no look flick pass is ALWAYS about luck, and no junior coach will teach people to do it for that reason. You guess that a guy who is usually outside you will be there and hurl the ball up in their approximate direction without looking, in the hope that they're thinking what you're thinking. By nature it's ALWAYS either 'OMFG!!! HE DIDN'T!!! HOW DID HE SENSE HIS OUTSIDE PLAYER?!?!? MAGIC!!!' or 'well that was farking stupid and unncessary'. If you are trained to work in combinations (like I think we are starting to see... e.g. Toops & Mitchell doing kick returns together, helping to push each other to ground during tackles and being there for an offload) then it becomes more likely that such tactics will work.

Stop with the brilliance BS. He has played first grade long enough to know when to tuck the ball and take the tackle. Especially when he brought Souffs into the game just before half time. He had a shocker.

His season has been outstanding though.
