I think that was going to be Niko's job until Pearce, Cordner and JWH became unavailable for a long stint.
Then of course Hendo got injured.
Our depth is shit this year and until we get a full strength team on the field there really isn't anyone who can fill that backup role.

no reason trent couldn't do that now, we are rarley using our whole bench now, trent thinks he brings out superhuman skills in players, and breaks and a full compliment of bench usage is not required.

Don't understand why aubo isn't spelling friend for 20. It's much easier to promote a forward from reserves than a half or hooker. Agree that friend should be playing 80. He's trying his heart out but our forwards are repeatedly losing the wrestle and he's having to do too much work.

It's no surprises the Tigers can't win since he is back, they are poor communicators and at hooker it kills a team with young halves. This will automatically fix itself once Pearce is back but yes Friend is currently basically playing a one man game and it will rarely work. He should have been given a spell and Watson go into hooker whilst we were in possession to see how it goes, we only saw Watson at the ruck for 2-3 plays all game before Friend would barge his way back in, another thing you will see Robbie Farah do all the time.

Totally agree with you..
Watson looked more seasoned and comfortable with the role,as opposed to Niko who seems very tentative and unsure.

No doubt both will become good First Grade footballers in the future,but the difference was obvious last night in a 5 minute spell.

The reduced interchange means Jake plays 80.

If you take him off for a spell and then back on that's a quarter of your interchanges gone.

The alternative is to bring him on after 20 or take him off after 60 - but you want him there at the start and end of the game.
