  • Liu to miss anzac day with early guilty plea

not surprising Liu copped a dangerous contact charge for his crusher tackle, unfortunately he misses a week if he takes the early guilty plea or two should he fight and lose.

hope the rumours about Cordner/JWH returning are true otherwise we are going to be critically short in the forwards for Anzac Day.

Now you may be sent off the field for a concussion test the dive from the head knock has reduced a lot. The dive for the crusher tackle is the new thing.

Is it worth fighting? Didn't look that bad, the Panthers play seemed to fall into it?

I hate the crusher tackle rule! Sometimes it really can't be avaoided. It is just one of the risks playing a contact sport. More often than not it is completely accidental.

Fark, another one on the injured/suspended list. Is Pappali is next in line/call up for next week. ....Also, why was Pappali doing fitness drills for 20 odd minutes AFTER everyone had left the field?

It is worth fighting it as last week Greg Eastwood and Sam Kasiano were both reported for a crusher tackle on Kevin Proctor which was worse.... Both were free to play against the Warriors on Saturday.

I thought Liu's was a genuine crusher tackle, not one of the trumped up ones the offical invent.

So tbh I think a week is fair.

Still, another brutal blow in a must win game.

Very similar to the two Matt Scott got off this season by taking it to the judiciary.

Granted he doesn't have the profile of Matt Scott but I'd definitely be fighting it if I was the club, the precedence has already been set.

Nearly every matt Scott, Tamou and Cam Smith tackle is a grapple or a crusher, Lui will be the scapegoat for these protected species

Unfortunately, precedence is inadmissible at the judiciary. I'll bet he cops a suspension regardless.

Absolute Crap..... Poor form Roosters, Poor Form...

Just announced they won't contest it, but yet everyone else gets off scot free for worse ones..... The NRL does need a new managing infrastructure as the protection of the Referees, Bunker, Match Review Committee and Tony Archer is exactly what Paul Kent said last night "Bull$hit".

How can a coach not be able to share criticism of match officials on the day? So if a reporter ask them what do they think of that decision they are simply not allowed to answer at all? I find it a joke that even if the Coaches do go through the proper channels they still get no response from Tony Archer...

My next question is "Who is in charge there?"

The club should have challenged this and use other cases as examples for why the downgrading should occur. There are that many examples out there, I think any club could have a case for it!!!

The club must think the best option is to serve a 1 week suspension now and carry forward the 87 points into the remainder of the season. Now I may be wrong here but 100 points ordinarily = 1 week suspension so where is the downside to fighting the charge and possibly losing the appeal... 2 weeks suspension with 0 points going forward... I would rather risk the appeal than carry what is almost a week suspension anyway in carry over points.
