Is it coincidence that Liu has IMO had some of his best games for the RWB in recent weeks? Not surprised the club has resigned him but it seems to have been all a little too easy for my liking. Are we starting to see factions appearing in our great club with the players who are genuine contributors wanting to get on-board and get on with the job leaving those who may have issues with the club and those the club may have issues with behind? Just a thought...

Not much elaborating to be done... just that it seems a very 'clean' contract negotiation. Over and done and out of the way.
Just speculating that it might be a show of colours so to speak...

So are you saying that re-signing Liu was a way of rewarding 'trustworthy' squad members, whilst making the 'untrustworthy' ones panic a bit?
Sorry if I'm coming across obtuse - I think there's something interesting in hat you're putting out there - I just want to know what it is that you're saying!Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

I think that Robbo and co. are getting to the point whereby all players are on notice, particularly if there's any truth to these Coote rumors.
As probably Guerra's most relentless critic here and with all that may be only now coming to light, the reality might actually be that Guerra himself and his shift to 5/8 was some conciliatory move by the coaching staff. Regardless, there's no way known to man that he ran for 221m Monday night against the Panthers.
Are you hearing me postcode?

His profile is almost private.
Perhaps he should move in with Pearce.

I speculate, but I don't think there's any ulterior motives in this. We've locked in most of our big name forwards and I think this just adds to the set.
IMO he's probably just cruised in casually, said 'aaaw $250-300k... tickle me boys' and has walked out with a smile on his face. If you sign $500k+ contracts then the pressure is on you to be a leader. Not all people are leaders (or want to be leaders). IMO many people would be SUPER happy cruising around on $250-$300k, doing their bit each week and yeah - living a reasonably private life without the stress/scrutiny that comes with being in a leadership role.
He's a chilled guy - I reckon that the club's happy with him and he's signed quietly because he hasn't tried to arm wrestle the club into paying more than they want to. Smart move IMO. I wouldn't want to be considered 'senior' or a 'leader' within the current Roosters environment. I'd wanna lock in my salary and chill for a year or so while we get better.

I think Liu is only 23 if im right he is coming towards the beginning of his peak as a forward > I expect big things from him in the next few yearsTwo things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I see where your coming from Double.
We all should be proud of how the team has been playing since the thrashing from the Cowboys. Season is definitely not over, only going to get a lot better now. Lui has been superb the pass 2 seasons in my opinion.
He works hard, has proven to play long minutes whether starting or not in reality Robbo has done an amazing job in keeping the mindset focus on the task at hand as players such as Aubusson, Lui and Tupou have tried so hard and been available at all times when the team is in need. Furthermore, it does not surprise me that the Club rewards these players with contract extensions because to me they are the true leaders of the team.
When under the pump they are always standouts and when we excel they do it in such a professional manner. I don't like the idea of Lachlan Coote coming to the club as I see a great in the likes of Latrell Mitchell and I do not want to see him put in a very awkward situation like RTS was...... We need these young guys to stay with the club under the coaching of Trent Robinson, and with the set up of the club we will have more success stories such as Issac Lui to continue.
So in conclusion, yes it may have been fast and accepted quite easily but you would have to thank and admire the professionalism of the club, coach and Issac for where they got to as he was being chased heavily from other clubs such as Tigers, Manly, Bulldogs, Warriors and Raiders......

We made an offer to BBQ but he wanted more money and a longer contract.
We let Jennings go because he would demand a fairly decent contract and the Eels again offered a longer contract and their great Third Party Agreements option.
RTS took $800K from the Warriors and we were nowhere near the ball park.
Are we still negotiating with Cordner who would no doubt get higher offers elsewhere and probably hanging out for a better offer? There are probably a few more in that same boat.
I think Liu was probably offered a modest contract and he felt that it was fair and wanted to stay here. Show me where to sign. Nice and quick.
