The fleeting moments of brilliance of both J Carney and Williamson have been and gone and posted on YouTube.

The reality is that both are mediocre footballers and fringe firstgraders at best.

JC has benefited from the injuries at the club this year, his mediocrity has been accepted because we have no alternative.

As for Williamson, does anyone really care where the guy plays, if at all??

There are no quality centers out there.

Carney showed against Newcastle that he is a good stop gap. Sure he was diabolical last week, but so was Todd, and FPN and the other idiots. So saying get rid of this particular bloke doesnt help because he's the ony decent option we have.

j-carney is fine. the rubbish on here about how he is just a product of youtube is bs. for williamson, maybe because the bloke never hit firsts but i maintain that if the bloke had a better attitude he would have been a weapon in first grade - all the ability you could hope for imo just poor attitude. the video of carney came out of one and a bit seasons of first grade with canberra (hardly a world beater side back then) and some was even from some rep games he played in for the indigenous. his problem is not his ability. he has had injury after injury and broke his leg last year thats why he has been a bit slow to live up to his reputation. i think he is a valuable keeper going forward. he like linnett, naughton and pritchard are those valuable players who could make a name for themselves in first grade but due to injuries/the ability of other players, end up as strong depth players. i dont think you could ask for a couple of better players than j-carney and pritchard/naughton to step up when the first grade side has a few injuries and with a bit of luck, like linnett, get a shot at nailing down a spot. he has stacks of ability and potential does carney and is a more than useful option at worst for depth.

as i have stated previously, i cant really see the need for us to sign more than a fullback replacement for mini. particularly if pritchard makes the most of his opportunities now we have a few injuries, imo there would be no need for us to go into the market for a winger and/or centre. when you throw in the likes of moga and blair and the fact that symonds and maubs can also play in the centres, we have more than enough depth there

You had me nodding my head in agreement until you put Naughton's name in there. I doubt he will ever play first grade again to be honest. Reminds me of Foley.......not big enough, not fast enough, not elusive enough, not strong enough. We might see him playing rugby 7's in a year or two, but I hope we do't see him playing on the wing for us again.

                  Oh dear.

We can't afford any more 'wayward' players.

i agree. my point was that we should be keeping j-carney long term and then one out of pritchard and naughton. if pritchard is no good either then i would look at maybe signing someone like oldfield. i however think that pritchard is going to show himself to be more than capable such that pritchard, perrett, leilua, linnett, j-carney, SKD are our centre/wingers going forward with moga and blair in the 20s to put pressure on them/increase the depth.
