I'd like to agree with you about Eloni, I love the guy but not sure how much of a future prospect he is. He has become my boy's favourite though...

Does anyone know how long Watson got on the park last night for the Junior Kangaroos? Says he was off the bench, made 22 tackles for no misses, 9 tackle breaks, 1 try, 1 line break, 1 line break assist. That's enormous impact if he's done that from the bench. Might be one hell of a super sub for us next year.
Just on a reasonably unrelated note. Why was Isaac Liu not even picked for Samoa?? He should have made the Kiwi side on form. Possibly because he wouldn't be able to play for the Kiwis next year if he played for Samoa last night??

Still though, very impressed with him, could possibly even be on hastings heels.

Although fullback is still a tough position to play, it has to be considerably easier for a rookie fullback to find his feet in first grade than it would be for a rookie half.
Especially when the half is playing beside another virtual rookie half.
Mitchell has shown all his potential through his devastating ball running. But aside from that he's made some huge errors as well as displayed poor positional play. Which is to be expected for a rookie.
Don't get me wrong I think he'll be an absolute superstar as he's only 18. But I do think that as difficult as it's been for him, he's still had an easier ride than poor Niko who well and truly got thrown to the wolves before he was physically and mentally ready in the games toughest spot - the halves

Spot on Tommy. It's comparing apples with oranges when one is comparing a man playing a central play making role - in the defensive line - is compared with one who's main responsibility is to play behind the defensive line, defuse kicks and execute kick returns.

Don't forget Niko was forced to make 30 tackles in a few games. Obviously our forward pack was stretched with injuries that he was doing more work than otherwise would be required. He's small in stature and trying to get accustomed to the increased speed and work of first grade. He was never going to succeed in attack after all that defence. Nikorima will be a gun. He's a work in progress. Can't wait to see him get a run over origin with Pearce and jwh around him. He'll be handy off the bench.
