  • Parra - Gonski

So Parra are supposedly copping 12 points today and you know the rest
Now that will destroy a few contracts.
So lets be evil sign Radrada , Norman and Foran that will solve a few issues
and we move up the ladder today

Caught cheating salary cap 5 out of the last 6 years. Considering they get to play for points for the rest of the year, i think they've gotten off lighlty.

There are 26 rounds. They can still feasibly make the eight with that team. What happens if they win the comp? Nothing, I imagine, as they have already received their punishment. (At least we've climbed up another step in the ladder)................................although I read now that they must shed players before they can compete for points......would be good to get Jennings back.

I think it was a weak penalty from the NRL. I mean, if they are permitted to play for points subject to letting go over a couple of players to get under the cap this year, how the hell is that going to be sorted out prior to the next round? Just another example of Greenberg's incompetence.

500k over the cap for this year might mean only losing one, probably two and certainly no more than three players. Finding new homes for three players inside 12 days before the next round is going to be a challenge. Parramatta will also find it hard to manage the second tier cap for the remainder of the year given they'd almost be at capacity anyway if they shed a few now meaning if they have injuriers, calling on boys from Wentworthville may not be possible.

Watmough will coincidently retire this week and all will be ok.
They can win 12 from 15 to make the 8.

I don't think C'Bury had to shed players all those years ago when they were penalised. They won a comp two years later with the same players.

Yes ..Watmough forced into retirement due to injury will coincidentally probably free up the $500k needed !

They have got the overpriced team to do it as well.

Yes, they were allowed to keep their illegally assembled team and actually added more talent to it. Remind me, who did they beat to win that comp?

He's registered and paid for, so his money is already on the books.

                            Very pissweak.

They signed Jennings in a salary rort. So what if Watmong retires, they'd still have Jenko whom they attained illegally.

They've gotten off lightly because a Parra team going well is immensely good for the West given that they've got the biggest fan base of any Sydney based side. Simple as that.

This Parramatta team will not make the 8. They are not good enough to win the vast majority of their matches and I can't see them satisfying the salary cap conditions in 2 weeks, to allow them to keep points even if they do win.
