  • Parra's For and Against should be wiped

I heard yesterday that the NRL would consider changing the penalty handed out to Parra. If so, they should definitely wipe Parra's favourable For and Against. Points they scored while illegally over the salary cap shouldn't push them over the line and into the semis at the end of the year.

Put it this way: if we have the same amount of competition points as Parra at the end of the year, but an inferior F & A, and don't make the semis while they do - is that fair?

I think the NRL should give Parra an enormous deficit in the F & A column. How does any team feel if they're knocked out of the top eight by Parra's superior F & A?

I don't really know if Parra's loss of 12 competition points is fair or not, but the NRL will have a disaster on their hands if its their superior F & A that sees them through.

This scenario is unlikely, but the one per-centers matter.

I believe that whatever the amount of points Parramatta Eels win they should finish no higher than 9th.

If we finish equal with parra and they started playing for points at round 10 then we don't deserve to be there anyway. Nor does any team that would be bitching about for and against. Regardless, Parramattas season is well and truly over.

I'll cut my dick off if they make the 8..

Yeah I mentioned this in a post earlier in the week. Given they have wiped their comp points the F&A should b wiped as well. Thing is though if they were to win 12 of their last 15 they would have a pretty good differential anyway you would think and still qualify. They could as an option flip their positive 45 to -45, or multiply whatever the avge game margin has been x 9 and apply that to them. Extremely unlikely they will make it anyway, but I don't see how they get to continue on with the current differential.

It's not only the Parramatta Eels for and against but the impact it has had on other teams such as the Canberra Raiders who were defeated by 30 points against Parramatta Eels only a few weeks ago. This whole situation has become a debacle for the season.

I wouldn't mind them making the 8 and beating one of the QLD teams (Melbourne included.) They all cheat, just they've been doing it forever, so they are smarter enough not to get busted.

                Hi ism22,

I do find it highly suspicious that all 3 Queensland teams in recent years have been accused of cheating the salary cap but in all 3 cases these accusations went away very quickly and quietly.

Didn't the titans get done for a breach? But it was only small? Not considering the coke fiasco and unpaid contractors.

                    No....leave Parra alone.

Thats paying too much respect to the farce called the salary cap. Theyve endured enough crap from this.

                    Everyone is tickling the till.

The NRL is incompetent and something else...starting with c...theres a u in there too.

Who decides a players value? Im guessing player managers with a dash of market forces....the cop out phrase.

Love live clubs like Easts and Parramatta.

It's hilarious, everyone assumes Parra are this mega threat to win the comp this year cap cheats or not as far as I've seen all they have ever been since '86 are chockers.
