I tend to agree with RC.

We can't continue to give away posession. Eventually a team is going to put 40 or 50 on us.

A team like Melbourne when they are on song would have done so last night.

We defended well. That is certainly a positive.

We need to capitalise when we are in good field position. We are not in those positions often due to our poor ball control.

You are a whinging mofo Cogburn. Always have been, always will be. There should be a separate sub forum just for you and Fred68 so you can whinge and whine and biatch to each other and give the rest of us some peace.

Warriors played about as well as they were allowed to play, by our awesome defence. We made plenty of mistakes but still beat one of the better sides. If you can't see some positives and promise in that then you are just a terminal whinging mofo.

Our defence is top rate. Once Toddy gets his mojo back we can be seriously dangerous. Aubo, Perrett back soon. Carney, BJ looked good last night and Pritchard looked twice the player of Nought Idea. We'll have the Storm U/20s with no Nate or Pearcey next week, I am confident that it will be our attacking turning ponit.

I don't care how ugly it was, fact is, we knocked of a Top 6 team who were on a 4 game streak.
Our defence was brilliant, and so long as that continues, we can grind it out against any team.
Attack was average, but hugely improved from last week.
          GO EASTS!

I can really see us stringing some wins together now... Origin depleted Storm, bye, knights, raiders, penrith and rabbits
could quite easily find ourselves close to the top 8 after these games

Mini gets bounced around like a pinball, I know he took a couple of bombs but that's his job. Pearce was ordinary again maybe Manly would do a swap with Cherry-Evans, now that kid can play. I know it was a win but the Warriors were terrible and that's why we won.
The Warriors weren't terrible at all - we won the game on the back of our defense.

If this is the best thread you can start after a gutsy win from a team whose confidence is at rock bottom, I genuinely feel sorry for you

Great case of irony. Last year our defense was shite and our attack was one of the best in the league and the catalyst for our success. I mean, in the second half of the year I though any deficit was not insurmountable given there was still time on the clock - we would be able to score if need be.

This year when even at times we've looked disinterested and lazy, our defense has held up okay. We can't score more than 12 points though!

I think if Carney's groin gets better and he gets some confidence, the team's attack will improve naturally. Hoping his injury gets better might be wishful thinking though. Ryan O'Keefe has a groin injury for the Swans last year, and while he played most games, his ability to run was greatly hindered and he endured a significant amount of pain. Todd's speed is clearly shot and I imagine his groin is restricting his kicking game as well.

Can't help but think there is a lot more to Carney's form than a dicky groin (pardon pun)
Hope that's all it is but he looks disinterested to me

                      I agree.

he couldnt even get excited about kicking the matchwinner

I thought his reaction said a lot and was good to see

He was acknowledging the ugliness of the win and that the side still has a lot of work to do

Maybe because he knew that he had been poor again and had contributed little to the victory? Not really sure why he so disinterested, hopefully thats it.

I agree to some extent. Carney's confidence is way down. He was really bubbly, enthusiastic and seemed to enjoy playing every game last year. This year even when the team scores he doesn't seem to be up. Not his usual cheeky self. Clearly all the things in the off-season, his groin and his form must be playing in his mind. I know if i did/went through some of the shit he did I be ****ing depressed to be honest. I imagine he wouldn't even want to watch origin. Looking at what you could have had, and then lost, would be painful.

A question I've been pondering for a while - is the team with him? Some would clearly not trust him anymore. Also Carney was disappointed I think, when he was made to train alone after his drinking saga - didn't he come out and say he thought it wasn't fair? I tend to suspect that he's lost respect within the group, but they are unsubstantiated conclusions.

I initially though the team didn't show a lot of emotion when the siren went, then I looked a little harder and noticed it seemed not because they were no happy but because they were absolutely stuffed.
Watching Ryles work in the defensive line even though he was extrememly tired and watching Cordner throw up with about 10 mins to go, sort of backed that up

Well i keep hearing from everywhere that the team wants nothing to do with him after he lied about why he couldnt travel and then went and got on the lash
