  • Change of tactics

After watching the Cowboys vs Broncos game, I believe that our team needs new tactics given that we now have a new spine and personnel. In the past 3 years, a bomb on the 5th tackle was quite effective as we had the players to convert those either into tries or at least keep the opposition pinned down in their red zone.
However, this season I do not believe this tactic to be effective at all, mainly due to our slower line speed and the prevalent use of blockers.
I think we need to try for repeat sets and and regain possession, thereby build pressure and hope to gain an advantage that way.
At the moment, we just need a tweak of tactics and try something different to break up the predictability.
    Thoughts?

I agree as such not to put the bomb away entirely, but without a good kick chase it does become much of a muchness.

I like a good clearing kick wether short or long but the same addage applies to all kicks - their only as good as the chase, 40-20's excluded of course

We use to start 100 miles per hour and blow teams off the park in the first 20 minutes. We had the X factor across the park to turn half chances into points but now we are rebuilding and need to learn how to win again. It will come and it will be good again.

Agree. This "build our game" BS doesn't work for us.

The only game we've started with intensity was against Souffs round 6.

JWH must start against the Dogs!

We can start by overloading and creating 2Nd phase play. We go to ground with the ball far too easily. I really don't know if it's my imagination but opposition teams seem to offload at will and that has created all sorts of problems

Change of tactics? What, go away from 5 hitups and a high ball?
