Even though last year I didn't rate takairangi he has actually done some pretty impressive things on the right edge for newtown this season, especially the last few rounds. So his selection doesn't surprise me, I think he's a player with a lot of natural ability that Brian smith can usually work his magic on. He and mataka should be dangerous on the right edge when either cordner or symonds move to lock to give guerra a rest. They've developed a great combination through good support play and impressive offloading abilities.

I think Arona will play that lock/prop role this week to make up for the shortage of front rowers. I like him in this role cos he has shown he has an element of ball playing before the line already this year in first grade.

Such a relief to see perrett back...wouldn't be surprised to see smith move him to fullback before kick off.

Pritchard would be more comfortable playing fullback than wing. And it would make sense to ease Perret back by playing him on the wing

How fortunate are we that Perret returned from injury! Not sure who would have played wing if he was still out injured

I'm not convinced about Perrett playing fullback. His support play around the ruck is lacking.
