If that's as good as it has been, does the team change for pearce to come back?
Had the same thought, I don't think they can drop matterson, he's the only one whos playing like a 5/8, and Hastings and Pearce just don't gel well together, and i think Trent just needs to accept that. They both go better with matterson, but unfortuantely I can't see either Pearce or Jacko being dropped. Obvs wouldn't drop an ex-NSW halfback, but don't think we should be living Jacko in reserve grade. So maybe it will be Matto, even though it shouldn't be as we'll just be left with two halfbacks who don't gel
Other than that grubber the only standout from Friend for mine was that shocking miss on Tedesco, he missed a few tackles yesterday but it was nice to see him actually pass the ball to Hastings for a change.

Pearce and Hastings can each play one side of the ruck and matterson can float as a lock. If napa and JWH keep dominating up front we could afford to do it.
The Storm put in a very very good display against Penrith. I recommend the people who don't think Melbourne can win the comp to watch it. Their forwards were brutal. Line speed all night. And the supreme professionalism of cronk and Smith.

This game will give our confidence an enormous boost if we win.

So the two repeat sets he earned us plus a number of other long kicks which saw Wests working off their own tryline didn't impress you at all? What about his vision to skip out of dummy half and throw a long ball to Copley in the lead up to Tupou's try? Friend was excellent yesterday.
This is a different test. I don't think the ladder is a true reflection of our roster or our standards that the current playing group and coach have set. I reckon the players would feel the same!
Saturday night will give us an opportunity to beat the team that's in equal 1st and in great form.
