Blokes like Carney, SBW and Maloney carried and covered up the lack of skill and creativity from our current crop

Thats quite funny considering the bloke the club has stuck by and pinned their hopes on has less ability and a longer rap sheet.

And 12 months ago when that photo of him having a ciggie surfaced I got criticised for calling him out. Everybody on here went 'nah it makes no difference to his health.'

Aside from the fact it slows down recovery and reduces your speed/endurance, I think it highlighted an ATTITUDE issue.

I put it to all of you that the attitude problem set in 12... if not 18 months ago. I reckon we've all been tired and a bit over it for a while now. Whereas, teams like te Storm SOMEHOW stay 100% motivated each season.

IMO we have the players to win, but not the desire. No offence to the Storm but Harris isn't a half, Blaire shoulda been our little biatch (as should Morgan) and we have bette forwards than the Storm. Smith and Cronk are pretty good, but the Storm played like a team!!!

We had no plan and no desire. The frustrating thing was that we had just about an even amount of ball and only 1 less penalty (which actually shoulda been a Storm drop-out rather than a penalty, but didn't matter in the end really given the score blowed out so badly.) Last tackle opinions and a lack of creativity cost us.

mate i turned it off halfway. Im tired of hearing the same shit come from his mouth. '' Its on us to get back on track and have a good game in nz''. How many times has he said that after losses? Nothing is changing. Same as robbo. Fire up mate. Your team just got belted 46 zip. Show some emotion. I was at the game last night and someone mentioned it already here faintly that some players were laughing and showing no real hurt at the scoreboard. I recorded the saturday full time wrap up on fox the first thing i see on it is a interview with friend on the field and his honestly out there laughing!!! Like **** me. I havent seen or felt this way about our team since we got belted by cronulla back in the smithy days and remember seeing perrett and skidsy laughing and clapping at full time on TV. Our attitude is shocking.

            .
            Agreed.
Around the same time we had to cop captain Mullet and captain Puppydog.

Jake's attacking game started unravelling around the same time, but we put it down to his injury.

Mmmm clean out indeed. I wonder how much having a premiership in the bag has made some players "stale" so to speak.

Need some fresh faces with hunger and desire in a few positions

Jake makes a lot of tackles because the opposition always run at him. Why? Because he always gets driven backwards.

Absolutely. He might not miss many but the opposition forwards pretty much always get over him and get to their hands and knees for a quick play the ball

                        Not a bad idea.

Yep many of the guys have little if no hunger/desire at all.

The has to be addressed NOW or the spoon will definitely be ours in 2017.

And then bring out the transit lounge.

Thats actually one of the reasons most hookers are the top tacklers.

Friend looks better when he has a job to do and has other capable of running the show. When the pressure is off he has the ability to add effectively.
Losing Maloney was the biggest mistake we made. With guys like Mitchell, Watson, Butcher and Manu coming through, if they can make the transition consistently then it will be painful for a while but we will be back at the top

Try and be serious and you will look stupid

The Board won't cop that. They will pay overs for a superstar.

True. Only thing that can improve things quickly as opposed to waiting for these 18-20 year olds to play more 1st grade.

The board also won't cop another year like this one. Robbos signed till 2019. That means Shyte. There would be clauses in his contract and even if there's not they would still not hesitate to pay Robbo out.

Friend won't be feeling so safe soon me thinks.
