IMO Hunt would actually be a good signing, along with Carney, Pearce and Anasta we would have 4 attacking options, Hunt does have good ball skills.
I would also like to keep Mini on a incentive based contract. He has been one of our best wingers over the last 10 years, so thats where i would place him if Hunt came into the side.
Throw Tansey into that bunch, we could have him coming off the bench, having either him or Hunt hanging around the ruck for a loose ball or a quick pass. Ah dreams.
I know we have a salary cap but wouldnt it be nice.
I'd rather be hunting for someone of the likes of Dugan or someone young and use the big cash which would be freed up on some young forwards because hypothetically if Mason and O'Meley leave also with Fitzgibbon and Soliola we arne't going to have much of a forward pack.

    8. Paea
    9. Jaubs
    10. Myles
    11. Shack
    12 Koupiritsas
    13 Sa

Not alot of go forward or a player who could make 40 tackles a game, with say Martin Kennedy/Stanley Waqa/FPN off the bench.

IMO Maubs would be a great replacement for Fitzys role, the workrate backrower.

Sirgaydickhead wont like it though, at least it wont get it, if it didnt think of it, cos it only listens to its own opinion.

And dont forget Bwaiff. IF we have signed Carney he may be considered a lock, or a Fullback.

If we sign Carney,i don't see where Anasta would fit into the 17..

His defensive workrate would have to double to slip him into lock, & he isn't a defensive work horse type of player..

Plus Maubs is the perfect fit at lock...He would be like Dallas Johnson...just more mobile..

If Sa is a longterm signing i would put him into the 2nd row..

Leaves centre for Anasta...& he isn't fast enough for that..

            11. Setaimata Sa
            12. Mitchell Aubusson
            13. Braith Anasta

            11. Anthony Tupou
            12. Steve Menzies
            13. Jason Smith

Similar sort of players for their positions I think. It might toughen Braith up a bit too.

Yep but would that backrow win you a comp..

Jason Smith was a far more creative player than Anasta too..in my opinion..

              As for toughening him up....mmmmmmmm

He did take a massive king hit on that enormous jaw and handle so you may be right..i hope

Re Tansey. I am not sure where we will play him. At the moment, it's fullback or hooker. When Mini returns, he won't have a spot. And Perret SHOULD be there in Mini's absense! I haven't seen enough from him at hooker to tell if he will be good there, but he seemed OK last week

If we had a hooker that was close to first-grade standard, Tansey would not get a game at Easts....

And he can't tackle one on one either. The amount of times players have strolled past him whilst he has been at fullback

I question decisions freddy has made. But the decision to move Perret from fullback to wing was the worst he has made this season!

Perrett at centre last week in a position hes played before and many claim he should play permanently made 19 tackles and missed 7.

Tansey at hooker last week in a position hes never played on a permanent basis as far as I know made 25 tackles and missed 7.

Ive never known Pezz to be a good defender at FB either. I have always been critical of his lack of support play, a trait all good FBs should posess IMO.

Tansey struggles in defence, no arguments there. But his support play has been impressive from FB IMO.

Id like to see Tansey become a permanent benchie. Hed offer alot of impact at the right stages in games at 9 I believe. Hed also cover 7, 6, 1 also.

Perret was playing out of his skin at fullback, until he was moved to the wing for Tansey

I can guarantee Perret would not have let as many people through at fullback as Tansey has this season! Tansey isn't bad in attack, but isn't anything to get excited over either

I was talking to Rusty about this at the game, whilst everyone bags the Shit out of my little Ranga mate Jones there is never any tries scored down his side, they lined up both halves and scored trough Sa, Pez and Sonny I think it was down the right hand side.

Pez is either a winger or a Fullback, he is not a centre and it doesn't help when you have a liability like Sa next to you who lets the opposition have an overlap all the time.

Tansey for mine is a good fill in for Fullback, I wouldn't mind seeing what he has to offer in the halves. I think the demands defensively for the hooker role are too much for him.

Super Sub might be an option but.......you don't sub halves very often

IMO FBs shouldnt be known for their defensive abilities, players shouldnt be busting us open up front so easily.

I dont believe Tansey misses on purpose, he does look like he is often out of position often in defence at the back.

IMO Mini is/was just as bad a defender. Often out of position, in attack and defence, but Mini had blinding speed that made up for alot of deficiencies.

Im not bagging Pezz at the back, he always did very well IMO, I just think he goes as well on the wing. I actually have always thought he was a centre, but last weekend he was exposed often in defence. I have often wondered why he doesnt trail around the ruck more often trying to expose bigger slower forwards. IMO its part of Pezzs game that hes way behind a Mini or even a Tansey.

Ive even wondered if Pezz could play as an impact 9, at the right times in games. He has a low centre of gravity, hes quick and hes very strong with great leg drive. Very much like Ping in many ways IMO.

have to disagree with the bolded part BG

our attack has, for a long time, been aimed at the left wing, Ie. SKD's wing. With the ball going from dummy half out to anasta for either the decoy play or the kick to skd's wing.

From my recolection, that is the side Jones is playing.

Don't take this as bagging the kid, i fell he has not scored many because of anasta holding on to the ball too much.
