  • The Mansour Rumour

    What legs has this got?

I'd be dead against it. A winger who's been at Penrith for a million years , plays origin , then we sign him?
We shouldn't be looking at wingers at all unless they are semi trailers.

Mate, i agree. It would be a stupid move.

The golden rule is - never blow shiteloads of cap on outside backs. Save it for the spine and the pack

We already have Fergo on one wing. To have two expensive SOO wingers in the one team is an irresponsible use of cap space

He's 24 isn't he? Hasn't been there for a million years. He came through the ranks with moylan. I'd have said we were odds on to sign until this thing with semi and parra has happened. I'm not saying we will get semi at all but you can bet your balls enquiries are being made.

            That's just it.
This potential signing means either Fergo or SKD will be considered specialist centres, Manu is the new Elliot, and the Gordon situation is....................interesting?
At the moment the signing of a rep standard winger should be questioned.
Unless , as said, he is a Fijian built mac truck with romantic notions of France, and an indifferent attitude towards Parramatta.

              Yeah BC, you're probably right.
I lose track of time, thought he'd been in the top grade a lot longer.
Hope the government doesn't confiscate my poetic licence.

I rate mansour. Obviously we want quality spine players but if they aren't available and we have money to spare then just buy the quality and find a place for them. Our forwards are strong. A big strong and fast backline might hold us with an average halves combo.

Mansour went to Penrith from Souths in 2012. So he's hardly been there for a million years.

And Semi is contracted to the Eels until the end of 2017 so no way will he be coming here.

                    Just correcting a coupleof points.

And no, after the debut of Manu we don't need him.

Manu has played one game. He looked good but he won't have the impact week in week out that a seasoned campaigner like mansour will. When toops pisses off to Melbourne mansour can have his spot and manu will be first in line as cover. He's still 19.

                      1. Gordon
                      2. Skids
                      3. Fergo
                      4. Latrell
                      5. Mansour

That would have to be the biggest backline in the nrl.

We've been hammered with injuries. Long term injuries at that to key personnel.

Many sides have though and I hope the reduction in interchanges is not to blame.

If you pull the 7, 6, 1, and a world class centre and a key forward out of any team they will struggle.

We've got some great youth coming through and with a bit of luck with injuries and referees we'll have some great depth and a much better 2017.

                          Famous last words......I hope not.

The rumour has legs, but it's not a done deal as some have suggested.

I rate Josh Mansour and he would be a better winger than Daniel Tupou. He is a strong runner of the ball but as has been stated previously, paying overs for a winger is questionable. I cant see it happening though at this stage.

Its clear that the side is clearing the decks in regards to contracts. Hastings, Burgess and i can see more to come.
