The Sydney Roosters have today announced the signing of Premiership-winning half Luke Keary.
24 year-old Keary will join the Club on a two-year deal commencing in 2017.
Keary has played 58 NRL matches to date and was instrumental in steering his side to the 2014 Premiership and 2015 World Club Challenge title.
“Luke is a gifted playmaker who will add depth and experience to our squad, and we see him taking his game to the next level at the Roosters,” said Sydney Roosters Recruitment Manager, Peter O’Sullivan.
“We are pleased to have secured Luke’s services and look forward to him joining our Club in 2017,” he added.

      .....maybe add this

and we will be offloading Hastings and all this could have been avoided if we'd kept Maloney.

I like the fact that it's only for two years. Glad we didn't baulk and give him three. Good signing given what's on offer. I actually think Hastings will stay for one more year and that you'll find Nikorima heads back home (or elsewhere).

He'll be an improvement on Hastings. That's about as far as it goes for me.

Winter is upon us, my friends. The dark ages will be arduous, frustrating, and historically they last about 5 years or so.

It will be interesting to see who in the roster survives

There's going to be a clean out - but you will be pleased to know Fergo will survive it.

There will be more than one. A semi-planned one this year, and another I would bet around the end of 2018 after the first one doesn't take

After three consecutive minor premierships this club needed a good clean out.

How about one from left field....?? Matterson in 3, Watson/Keary in 6, Hastings in 7, Keary|Watson in 9... Pearce & Friend sign with Saints for 2017.. Or they both go to Newcastle on mega $ deals??? Just a bit of fun..

I'd prefer we played Watson at 7 , great prospect , Keary or Hastings at 6.
                        Matterson to catching practice.

Pearce ? Does he play footy for us anymore ?

I haven't watched many vermin games so can't decide if this is a good signing or not.
I dunno, but to me it's almost like an admission that the club got it wrong when they let Jimmy walk.

I think Keary will do well for us. He has been playing for a coach that is a hard ass and apparently not flexible at all with the game plan or structure. It's well documented a lot of South's players don't like their coaches suffocating style.

Keary is a running 5/8. Something we do not currently have. Despite his size he is not in the least scared about taking the line on. I think we can all appreciate that.

I think everyone should disregard what you have seen of him in 2015,2016 under McGuire. Make your judgement based on his play in a full strength Roosters side under a respected , easier going Coach.

Matterson's a running 5/8 though?? What does this mean for him? He's a good prospect, I want to keep him in FG

But I agree, this is the club's way of trying to right the wrong they did of letting Jimmy go. But they will never be able to fix that mistake, and it could cost us for many, many years to come. Even with Pearce gone, Hastings/Matterson/Nikorima would've played way better with Maloney steering them around, not having two halves with like less than 10 NRL games between them. RIP Jimmy. We miss you
