See that's just the thing, he played well last year with MALONEY. Not Pearce, the competition is too close/tough to run two halfbacks together, I would have thought all those wise old footballers would have never put this combination into place without some kind of HOPE.
Bugger hope, this is a cutthroat landscape of business/footy no room for dreams/she'll be right here.
It's a deadset fail, that person's salary should be divided up amongst members for a carton each.
I know you agree John.

Remember that the Chooks made this decision mostly based on what Hastings did when Pearce went down injured last year. The vast majority of the ppl on this forum were singing Hastings praises, and even in the last game of our season, believed we should not have brought Pearce back in, but instead stuck with Hastings.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing. Everyone on this forum, including me, has an Advanced Diploma in hindsight. The Club does not. They made a decision based on the long term future of the Club. Backing a young guy who would have been our half for the next 10-12 yrs, over a true 5/8, albeit an ageing one.
I have no doubt the Club now knows they got that decision wrong. In saying that, and I know I have harped on this before, if the Club chose to sack Pearce and play Hastings as our half back, I think he would be a success. That is his proper position imo. Team Hastings up with a true 5/8 and then I think we could have our No. 7 for the next decade. But it seems we are backing Pearce as 7, thus Hastings may be surplus.

Concerning Luke Keary, I think Nostradamus said it best -
And the rooster will crow three times
All who hear the third will suffer
Famine and pestilence will prevail
Until Satan's son sees the light
Clearly he's talking about our recent minor premierships and our poor 2016 and that anyone who was in the team at that time was doomed (even RTS and Jenko couldn't escape the curse - heaven knows what's going to happen to poor old Jimmy). And clearly "Satan's son" refers to Luke Keary and "sees the light" must surely mean leaving Souths and coming here.
Good times ahead.

Wow, another undiscovered quatrain surfaces!
Love your interpretation , but what if Satan's son is Pearce????
Wayne is so revered these days, but they say it will be the last one you suspect.
So will Pearce see the light.
Will he stick to his current determination to make amends?
Or would it mean he's off to help Brown fix Newcastle?
