Fergo had one bad read (went inside, Oates went outside and scored) but other than that, didn't make too many mistakes. If anything, he got us 2 penalties and was pretty solid. Walker never passed him the ball and kept getting tackled early - nothing you can do about playing outside a shyte centre really.

The next from a horrible Jennings jam and in leaving Mansour with a 2 or 3 on 1.
The last was an inch perfect kick.
He couldn't have done anything about the first 2 and the last one well Gagai is full-speed all ready when Mansour has to turn and chase. How was Fergos involvement in helping his forwards out? eg dummy half runs etc which is a big part of a wingers job these daysOriginally posted by King Salvo 'Tedesco and Woods will be more than likely Dogs signings but both will give Tigers last shot - we are not in the race anymore'

When in form, Ferguson is clearly the better player. Unfortunately he has been very, very ordinary all year. Maybe it's what fatherhood does to you. Or maybe spending the entire off season training at fullback has affected his game. He lost a lot of weight to play fullback supposedly. Great experiment that was.

Mansour DID make a pathetic effort to chase Gagai for about 5 metres before making a useless diving arm grab, and Fergo DID drop a sitter without any pressure on him.
Neither made a good account of themselves (although Fergo played probably about as well as you'd expect based on his form this year)

Only 1 try was scored on his edge, and we never really attempted to attack using the right edge (party because Walker is shyte and failed to create anything).
I don't really care about the circumstances... most tries were scored on our left edge. Fergo even ran over and tried to stop one of them (nearly did and possibly woulda if Cronk hadn't held back Frizell while he was chasing Gagai). But I mean... where was Mansour in the chase? He left a large back rower to do the running for him, which is inexcusable.
---
Summary... was Fergo quiet last night, playing outside an inexperienced centre (Walker) in a team where most offensive ball went to the left? Yeah, he was quiet.
Was he rubbish? No, he did his job. Sometimes being quiet is a good thing because it means you didn't fark anything up.
Is Masour better than Fergo? Hell no! He and Jenko got ALL the ball and did absolutely SFA with it. Together they bombed two certain tries due to a lack of communication and conceded 3 on their edge. Fergo definitely has more talent.Last edited by ism22; 06-23-2016, 01:58 PM.

Fergo made 66m ...that does not equal a lot of effective dummy half carries. Dummy half and hit ups are a very big part of a wingers game these days.
I think it's easy to assume he let a large backrower to do the chasing. These days many backrowers are not much slower than wingers and some are quicker. Mansour probably made a poor decision then but as he was travelling one way (forward) and has to turn and chase being 5-10 metres off Gagai probably new he wouldn't get him. Frizell was supporting from inside moving at a different angle so easier for him to chase. Maybe from training Mansour knew Frizell has more wheels than him, maybe Mansour assumed cover will come too. It's easy to just say the winger didnt chase - inexcusable but neither did 10 others in the team including Jennings. Having said those mitigatingnfactors I will give the points to Fergo for that one.
You say most offensive plays went to the left but in another post you said Mansour didn't get ball because he played outside a shyte centre in Walker....so which one is it really mate?
Being quiet is not a good thing for an outside back in case he farks up lol.....see my first point.
What two tries did Mansour Co bomb with Jennings in Company? Jennings bombed two but Mansour didn't bomb them lol.
The 3 tries on the left edge were not Mansours fault....read my previous post if you can be bothered for some analysis. Applying that argument you would blame wingers for every try scored on left or right edge as obviously no other player who plays on the edge lol..thats absolutely laughable in a lot of cases. Eg 3rd Gagai try was almost impossible to defend and it's not up to the winger put pressure on the kicker 3 players in on that play.
The fact you said you don't care about the circumstances means you have not applied any analysis or thought to why the Cane Toads scored their tries and just blame the winger(s) and then added up the tally to see who conceded less.
I agree Fergo has more talent. It is perhaps why he is not playing as well as Mansour has less talent but has far more of a go.
By the way Cooper Cronk has less natural talent than Albert Kelly. It doesn't make him a inferior halfback.Last edited by Mad_Rooster_in_GraceLand; 06-23-2016, 02:46 PM.Originally posted by King Salvo 'Tedesco and Woods will be more than likely Dogs signings but both will give Tigers last shot - we are not in the race anymore'
