I'm not suggesting we sign him but your post raises an interesting point. Cleary has come into the team on the back of some great 20s form so confidence is sky high in a much more settled team. Whereas Niko was thrown in the deep end. I really feel sorry for young Niko, we may have ruined him.

Why does everyone assume Niko just isn't worth persisting with? He showed some glimpses of potential, it was obvious he wasn't ready though.

Leave him in he lower grades for this year and next year he could be ready for a bench role. His minimal FG time will also help him.

I think think club knows he is worth persisting with but maybe he is homesick and wants to go home.

I swore I was looking at his dad when I watched him last night. Ivan had that same slight head tilt when he kicked goals and the disappearing top lip when Junior was concentrating was eerie.

And it's nice to see a footballer's son without a bizarre name. I know Jackson is likely named after the Bull's coach but when he's our halfback next year, I'll call him Jack Hastings.
