    Is this the secret to good coaching?

    Eddie Jones sharing his philosophy ...........

    "You can make statistics do anything you like, and some coaches really believe in them, but I don't. There are only two statistics we look at. Firstly, how long does it take a player to get up off the ground and get back in his place for defence. Secondly, how long it takes a player to get up off the ground and get back in his place for attack."

          He didn't mention anything about doing so quickly being preferable. Cam Smith's the world's best player, and it's not as if he got there by standing up as quickly as possible.

            I think it just highlights the differences between the two games. There are far more important stats in league than the two Eddie has highlighted

              Cameron Smith gets into his position really quick in defense, causing chaos in the ruck by laying in it.
