  • The turning point in the Storm game was...

When J Carney got bundled over the left sideline and then Mataka got bundled over the right sideline soon after. Talk about building the Storm pups and crowd's confidence.

Then JWH and FPN just wanted to fight for the first 20 of the second half. More bonding for the Storm. Game over.

I thought it was the QF flight out of Sydney. For a minute I thought the volcano was going to save our skins BUT I also agree with getting pushed over the side. It seems to happen in every game BUT Smithy hasn't noticed.

J Carney tries hard but just isn't a centre for mine. Makes Smithy's decision to drop Kane Linnett earlier in the season easily his most ruthless of 2011 (and IMO his worst).

If J Carney was tackled, man hanging onto his legs, his forward progress stopped, he standing still...how come Storm players are allowed to arrive and just drag him over the sideline?

Answer: the referee just let them.

          Another disgraceful decision.

Mataka was nowhere near the sideleine, and was running in a centre's position...when 4 big huge Storm players just picked him up and "threw"/marched him over the sideline like a rag doll.

What happened to the rule that you're not allowed to lift players into the air and march them along, and over the sideline?
Was that another one of the NRL's one week wonders?

Throw in also JWH being penalised in possession 10m out on the 2nd tackle. We finally got into an attacking position only a try behind and he gets penalised for some ridiculous reason ....walking off the mark ....when we saw that same thing done several times during the match for no penalty !

The turning points were that Blocking Penalty on the last tackle which gave the News scum another set of 6 and scored the winner, and teh fact teh Storm forwards were allowed to be 5 meters off side all night.

Including the penalty against Jake that gave them a crucial goal.

The player walked forward so Jake was pushed to the side at marker.

That was happening all last season and they made a big song and dance about stamping it out.

                What a joke.

They never showed a replay of that.

I don't even know if it was deserved.

I thought the turning point came when Mataka dropped the ball -he wouldve scored and Tom Symonds giving up two penalties away in the opening twenty from which Melbourne scores as usual we cant score tries ,every game is the same we are on top for twenty minutes and blow 3-4 scoring opportunities.
We defend as good as any side in the comp but handling and penalties is our constant down fall.

While being roughed up in a tackle by the 'chicken-wing', 'head-crunch', 'wrestling', "high tackles just let go 'all the time'", opposition in purple.

                        Yes, another joke penalty...Storm wins.

The scrum penalty to the Storm was my 'favourite'!

When they start giving scrum penalties against you you know it's time to just walk the team off the field and forfeit the match.

Lets forget our game for a second though, the referees are second rate across the board.

i have spoken to alot of fans, both rooster and non rooster and the consensus is the same. there are major turning points in games that they can pick where the ref has had a direct involvement in changing the momentum of a match.

A referee is there to enforce the rules for both sides equally, regardless of position on the ladder or perception of a player, coach or team.

Are the referee's being held accountable by their coaches???? Referees deserve respect yes, but they earn respect by admiting mistakes and learning to make the right desicion.

How did Mataka drop that? It was right on his chest and he was through the hole.
