agree with the bad refs how many forward passes did melb throw, hinchcliffe laying all over us, not once did he penalise them for being inside the ten, although its our fault until our forwards wanna wear boots instead of gloves we have no one to blame but ourselves.

The turning point was our complete inability to grind away at them in any way. We pretty much applied no real pressure at all.

Getting bundled out twice in the 2 minutes before half time, only having four points to show for a stronger start, playing high emotion defence, giving away penalties and then not wearing them, throwing high pressure balls against a flat defensive line... the list goes on.

Having said that, Melbourne were impressive. How much of that second-stringer squad of theirs can O'Sullivan take credit for?

Sure, terrible ref but come on.

We blew it / were never really in it.

We don't have the mettle. That's all there is to it.

dont you lot realise local rules apply in melbourne, benefit of any decision must go to the local side!otrherwise refs lose their stake at the casino? the cheating at melbourne has not been restricted to overpaying star players? as is news business plan..."whatever it takes!" if that means bringing the game into disrepute, so sad too bad!

Some people call it "biased refereeing".

walking off the mark would have made slightly more sense but i thought the ref said it was for JWH having his hands on a storm players face which was even more rediculous!

                  In a nutshell !

A lot of interesting points here but that just about sums it up.. scoring just 4 in a

game is not up to it...

lasts years team would have given the 21 points to the storm and a hiding on top of it

We were given no chance by the officials last night, the try awarded to champion was a farken joke, no.1 champion did not make a play at the ball, yet nudged BJ in the air to put him off balance, then waqa actually touches the ball, went backwards but champion was in front of him and off side.

very bad call, but i have come to expect it.

The coconut kids wanting to bash everything in site, instead of doing what was really needed and using their heads.

The constant walking off the mark by Melbourne, it seemed every tackle they went to the side and our markers were called off side, as JT mentioned the one against Jake was a farce.

When J Carney was pushed over the sideline, the bloke was tackled, the guy still had a hold of his leg, why should he be punished for getting to his feet for a quick play the ball??? he wasn't looking to run on or offload, so why was the second tackle allowed??

Unfortunately with Carney in his cirrent form we havent the flashy x factor player who can kick start something, we have a bunch of big young kids who are toilers.

                    Is Widdup still available???

IMO, the turning point was Mataka (?) dropping a Todd Carney pass that would have put him in under the sticks. Carney tried that pass one more time and it was dropped again. We went from being 6 points up with our forwards dominating and Carney ready to carve them up, to Carney being too afraid to play his natural game.

the run over the sideline just before halftime was where the game ended

I like JWH a lot but he has farked up in that position 3 or 4 times this year ... penalties, dropped ball, etc right in front of the opposition posts. It just kills any momentum. He needs to smarten up but I definitely thing he has the potential to do so.
