Are you kidding? Matterson couldn't even pass off the ground. In our last set of the game when we were attacking their line he hit Napa short when we had an overlap out on the left.

Matterson is a promising young player but he is certainly not a dummy half.

We are a glamour club that is run on the notion of instant success and big gamble signings. Always have been. It's actually an endearing quality as all the shit they put us through makes the victories that much sweeter. Supporting the Storm or Broncos would be boring and soulless.
Ahahaha the mets. I became a mets fan on a trip to New York last year. Their history of choking was explained to me. I wondered what all the fuss was about as they won game after game all the way to the World Series....and then choked from an unlosable position.

Wasn't he going to be a real estate agent in Goulburn? We definitely kept the right Aubbo bro

and you people want to bone him for a few bad games.
I am unashamedly a Jake Friend devotee.

I would never punt him. I do know the game is in the balance with 5 min to go and good old Fergo knocks it on trying the miracle pick up play.
Cronulla were crap last night and we still got beat. They weren't even taking our boys seriously and we got pumped.

Dropping Friendy would only harm us.
What you say about the three fantastic seasons is true and dropping him would harm us. But what does he need to get that form back? He seems a different player these days

I thought I was the only one who noticed. Promising player. Check. Dummy half. No way

Doesn't this basically describe Friend's dummy half play all year?

                  Yep spot on.

Friend either takes the wrong option, or throws a harbour bridge pass, or throws it forward. Add that to his complete lack of any running game and his usually terrible kick options results in him not only offering nothing in offence but he actually harms our offence. Hookers that can only tackle and not offer anything in attack like friend and bonnetti are of some value when they have top attacking weapons in their team like freddy, sbw, Jennings etc but take out the top attacking weapons and they are shown up big time as this year has shown for friend. I would prefer that he stop trying to be Cameron smith (because he only has a shred of the talent that smith possesses) and just sticks to tackling if that is all he can do rather than he try to come up with hero plays in most sets that turn into a disaster, he just does not have that ability in him.

                    Nope not me.

A clue he has been posting under a new alias for about a year or 13 months.

You have a point but he is still a better option than most others at the club for now. Possibly Pearce would go better. Watson offers more value as a utility or 5/8 and for him to start no 9 would destroy at the stage his career is at.

Jake used to make quick darts from dummy-half and threaten the line.

The only time he runs with the ball now is to go the blind-side and put in a kick on the 4th tackle no-one else is expecting (although they should know by now).

Unfortunately he is a shadow of his former self.

I cant stand it when he goes down the blind side. He does it more often than not when the blind side is full of defenders instead of the open side, again often taking the wrong option.

Throw in the significant fact they both became "detached" from their long-time partners last off season. Unlimited time to booze, chase skirt and play-up......Sure they're young and deserve the right to enjoy themselves like young men their own age but i've always been of the opinion that if you're settled and content, you usually carry that aura with you. Sportspeople especially, credit their partners for their continued success.
