Would you watch rugby league?
Personally I love the game and it was the roosters that I watched for my first ever game of league in '75 and been an avid spectator of many games even the ones that don't involve the roosters.
Lately I've been a little turned off by the irregularities of officials and MRC and the distinct bias towards some teams by some refs, and I'm not taking just about the roosters, there have been many games ruined as a spectacle for me because one side was not being referred the same as the other .
What's your feelings on this?

If we were kicked out of the Comp I wouldn't watch anynore. I'm not one of those "rugby league fans". For me it's roosters first, second, third and last.

The decision is made all the more easier by the incompetence of the match officials and administration.

People may doubt what I am saying but there are plenty of people who left and didn't come back after the SL war - even ones whose team was still there.

I will always love the Roosters but my love for rugby league has been waning for a couple of years, its a combination of taking the shoulder charge/punching out of the game, there is no old fashioned intimidation allowed anymore, and the game is way more niggly now that players know they won't be slugged if they are acting grubby.

the shoulder charge could of stayed all they needed to do was make the penalty for contact with the head substantial enough.

also the stupid overuse of the bunker to micro manage every decision is plain ridiculous.

at this stage I virtually don't watch any NRL except for the Roosters games, give me a good game of AFL/NFL over the NRL any day.

I would still watch the game because I think it's the best sport out of all the sports in the world but if the Roosters weren't in the comp it wouldnt mean as much to me as what it does.

I'd watch the occasional game. Maybe. When there's nothing better on. The current trend of referees coaching players is a massive turn off for me. It's the only sport in the world where that happens. Refetees being the centre of attention is just a horrible blight on the game.

Watching Tommy Rudonikis on the Sunday Footy Show reminded me of a time when I watched RL for the love of the sport. I loved Arty, Bunny, Horrie, Tommy, John Dorohy, Dallas Donnelly Terry Randall and FFS I liked Terry Fahey when he played for Souffs.

To me the NRL has suffered since SuperLeague. I fell out of love with the sport. It has become worse with the satin of betting sponsorship.

I love the Roosters 1st, 2nd, 3rd and beyond. Origin bores me. But this is hard to decide as Rugby is a great game to play but it can be so damned boring to watch.

I think I'd turn to GayFL

Probably coincides with the chooks having a crap season, but the footy is just so boring, I have foxtel too and try and watch the games but find myself doing chores instead.

I've been watching more and more AFL of late, including the Swans. After two grand final wins in living memory, I keep wondering 'what now?'

Short answer - probably not the NRL, Origin or internationals. The Roosters are my team and I don't support other teams. Examples:
- Last year I didn't watch the GF (arguably the pinnacle of the sport) because I didn't care who won
- International league is a farce and I can't connect with our team at all because it's mostly a bunch of cocky QLD'ers who are used to winning everything (even when they play like rubbish)
- Origin's even more of a farce... QLD win every year and all I get to watch is cocky QLD'ers showing absolutely no humility and partying for 6-12 months after an increasingly predictable victory. When they lose a single game, they get dirty and show absolutely no grace about it. They're good, but they're for everybody (e.g. like a Federer or Djokovic in Tennis... they're more like a McEnroe... a champ who you get sick of watching because he whinges so much and has absolutely no grace/humility about him).
- Murdoch essentially owns the sport. We got rid of Superleague... but then Murdoch still ended up taking over the sport (all games are on fox, they've got the video ref'ing that he looooooves and in recent years, Murdoch's owned a stack of cheating clubs that get favourable treatment).
- I've already dumped a team due to a merger (was a Steelers fan until they merged with their arch rivals). I couldn't go through that again... it takes all the heart/tradition out of the game when you lose a team with a rich history.

FWIW though, I might still watch rugby league (e.g. Wyong or the Jets... for me it was pretty rough losing the Jets as our feeder actually - because I'd bonded with them). I find a good Jets v Tigers game at Henson Park (with the Lebbos banging on their drums) much more fun that some rubbish QLD/Murdoch-dominated game.

I watch the Roosters, not Rugby League. Take the emotional attachment out of it and the sport is pretty stupid, particularly the way it's run nowadays.

nope 2014 when the NRL gave the vermin an armchair ride to a premiership is when I started turning off rugby league.
